Im doing 1070 mile run from GA to Texas tomorrow. I’m going to predict we’ll get 21.5 mpg with overall average speed including stops of 67.5 mph. Tune in tomorrow night to see how we did.

My tire choice definitely didn't help me....but they look good. My wife's car is capable of 36+ mpg so that is what we take for a lot of our road trips that don't require carrying larger loads anyways.

I'm not going to complain about a 3+ ton vehicle that can still get 25-27 mpg around town on 34" tires though!

I usually get 20.0 MPG. I do drive 85MPH on the freeway if traffic allows and commute home through the city. I was only getting about 18.5, but I was having too much fun in Sport mode and not paying much attention to braking and Electric mode activation. Now I drive with EV coach and play the "Stay in the box" game. Applying brakes at key moments to coax the PT into electric mode helps a lot too.

Just did a trip from Mount Vernon, VA to Whitepost, VA and back this weekend (Friday during pm rush and today early afternoon) mostly on I-66. 28+ mpg using adaptive cruise/bluecruise. Bone stock 2023 Limited with some tools on the back.

My MPG is starting to improve after 3 years of ownership with my 21 PB Limited. Finally getting just over 22mpg on a tank. I have frequent trips of 300-700 miles and speeds up to 85 though. That has hindered my mpg.

Hi, I bought a 2022 F150 Platinum v6 hybrid today.
I did a city+highway driving on 2-wheel mode today, but the best is 18.8 mpg.

The car has Ironman AT2 tires(275/60R20), I am not sure how much it affects the fuel consumption.

The window sticker and Ford suggests 23 mpg.
Is this right? It is a used car with 31k miles on it, there should not be a problem with the hybrid battery, right?
Thanks!

I found running eco mode helps if you are using a light foot. With a heavy foot I seem to get the same milage regardless. I have a 2 in lift with Mickey Thompson ATs and average around 20 mpg.

Well, it was worse than predicted. Exactly 1060 miles in 16:44 total time. We stopped a bit more than I thought we would, including a 35 minute dinner break at a DQ in Stephenville, TX. We hit some heavy traffic due to construction going around Dallas and really high volume congestion out I20 through Weatherford.

Overall average speed including stops was 63.4 mph, moving average was 69.4 mph.

We ran On cruise at 78-79 mph in 70 zones and 82 in the 75son interstates slowing appropriately for urban areas or construction zones.

You’ve got to love Texas back roads with their 75 mph limits. We ran 75-78 there.

overall mpg was 19.9 and it would not have been that high if we didn’t have the traffic jams around DFW to bring it up.

from experience I know running 70 will give much better results.

Seems like a PB could get much better MPG in city driving if it were programmed to start out in electric mode from a stop until you hit say 25 MPH. Not sure if the electric motor could handle the torque, but looking at the EV coach when starting from a stop, the MPG drops down to 4-5 MPG. I thought that's what the Hybrid was supposed to do, get you moving in electric mode and then let the gas engine take over when more torque was needed....?

I can get over 20 MPG on some short trips if I take it easy and baby the accelerator. I will say I am getting better mileage with it than I got with my 2019 Platinum 3.5L EcoBoost. I keep a notebook in my truck and log all my gas purchases, mileage, price, gallons, etc., In my 2019, I drove 27,209 miles and used 1,664.79 gallons of gas, for an over all average of 16.34 MPG. My new PB is doing much better. I've gotten 18.3 MPG for the first 2,214 miles I've driven, about 2 MPG better, so I guess it was worth getting a Hybrid. Have done mainly city driving with my new truck, with a few 30-45 mile expressway trips thrown in.

The electric motor cannot take up much of the starting. Starting from a traffic light, as the speed approaches 10 miles/hr, the engine will come in with approximately 1.7 RPM based on my driving style which is an old man I believe. Therefore I doubt the capacity of my hybrid battery.

I get 21-22 easily. Better around town than on the highway.

This is crazy, I drove an empty car yet 18mpg. How soon will your engine step in when it takes off? My engine starts when EV mode gets to 10 miles/hr.

I was following EV coach too. I just feel the blue bar for EV is so short which makes me question if the battery's capacity is bad now.

It does seem like the box shrinks fairly quick at times. At first I thought that was totally capacity driven. I'm not so sure anymore, I started thinking temperature might have an effect as well. Like possibly the battery pack or traction motor are nearing a temp limit and need time to cool. Just a guess, I still got a lot to learn about this powertrain.
