I bought a 2022 XLT Sport with upgraded sound system roof 7.2kw and had nothing but issues thought it was a lemon dealer got me out of it at 33,000 km into another 2022 hybrid this time a Lariat sport I have 26,000km on it and I regret every day I drive it!!! Climate control hot on the feet cold on the chest, phone issues with clarity and dropping NAV issues always down with the "Cloud" adaptive cruise with speed sign will slam on brakes and accelerate with zero speed signs around. I can go on and on and the complaint department at dealership is what I call the excuse department. I do Regret!!
None of that has anything to do with the PB platform, that's all part of the 14th gen F150's nature, and half of it can be disabled in the screen. PEBCAK

Had to look up another one lol.
In the Air Force, often times there wasn't a problem with the aircraft, just a short between the headset...

Having been a owner of 4 different RAM pickups (diesel and Hemi) in the the last6 years as well as one Hyundai Santa Cruz (2023) and now a 2023 F150 Platinum PB. I feel I am qualified to provide my feedback so far on my PB. I have had the expected electrical gremlins (stop safely now issues when starting, Audio system not coming on and freezing at the 75th anniversary screen, steering wheel controls for the Sync 4 system not working, powered tailgate not working,...,) all in the first 4000 miles. However, I had similar issues with the RAM pickups and the Hyundai. These vehicles are so loaded with technology they have a tendency to glitch. I accept it as part of having a high-tech vehicle. I love the mileage of the PB, I like the performance and I am happy with the ride and quietness. It tows well, looks good and unlike the RAMs, fits in my garage. My biggest concern is that many dealerships seem incapable of servicing the PB platform. Their techs don't have the knowledge and skill to work on the platform and many dealerships seem to not want to invest in the necessary equipment to support the platform. Lack of dealer support is my single biggest concern with the PB hybrid platform. I have considered trading it for that reason but I am hopeful that Ford corrects the issues with their support. I can say that this forum and the knowledge of the people on it are the single best reason to stay with the platform.

The jury is still out for me. I want to love my '23 PB, but I'm only 2500 miles in and its already left me stranded once with no explanation (please stop safely error). I've had several times where the radio/infotainment screen doesn't seem to start properly and then 'reboots' after about 2 minutes then I can finally work the controls. My mileage seems better so far. I'm getting about 21 mpg on average.
If you have been unfortunate enough to wind up with a troublesome truck, be aware that the dealerships will have a difficult time sorting you out as they appear incapable of troubleshooting these complex rolling computers.

Here’s some light reading that will keep you up at night - a record of our service logs for our problematic 2021 PB:

Uhoh.
Happy Powerboostrs are popping in. They aren't supposed to exist. ?

I love it.
Even if they tend to be quiet at times.
We only tend to be quiet after disabling that mother f******g backup chime in 4scan.

In the south, there is literally no time that I am not running at least one of the radiator fans to cool the ac condenser coils. And those fans at low speed are way louder than the fake engine sound coming from the pedestrian alert speaker. But I digress, I could not Be happier with my PowerBoost, key things to consider if you are concerned about the hybrid system electronics’ longevity-that stuff is all covered for 10 years/100,000 miles. According to my maintenance issue scoreboard, ICE is the only system thats had an issue… PCM went kaput on the interstate on ramp at like 15K miles. Remember this, there are a laundry list of computers and electronic systems in EVERY F150, a majority of which are related to the ICE system. An ecoboost or a 5.0L still has all 75 (not sure what the actual count is) computer modules that the PowerBoost has, the only difference is that the PowerBoost has an extra (Let’s say 30) systems related to hybrid stuff. So the way I see it, one of those 70 standard modules and/or the ICE and million other mechanical components that move and wear down in both the hybrid and the other engine types are going to fail ten times over before anything related to the hybrid system goes bust. But you have to weigh in what the experience will be like 10 years from now trying to replace a traction motor inverter control component, will it even be available for purchase? I sure hope some aftermarket peeps start making replacement/upgraded hybrid tech for all of the PowerBoost trucks on the road.

I am now starting having regrets on getting the PB as everyday now it seems I have another gremlin show its face. Such as Windshield wipers not shutting off, Blinkers going haywire, Water coming in the drivers side roof speaker, approach lights not working, Center screen going black and finally the Half shaft bolt debacle. Most if not all of these problems come and go as they please and of course you take it to the dealer and they cant duplicate the problem. thus gremlins.

Doesn't seem like any of those problems are PB centric. They are all general F150 issues, right?

I think there are two roads of thought here. One being your PowerBoost truck as a whole and the other being the PowerBoost part of your PowerBoost truck. On the negative side, 95% of everything I'm seeing are F150 problems. Not specifically PowerBoost problems.

For me:

In the PowerBoost side of things, I'm very happy. As with all I wish for a bigger battery, But I've had very good luck and everything works as it should. My one sticking point, and I know why it is and there is nothing that can be done about it without changing other things, Is the rather abrupt change over from EV to ICE from a standstill. The truck defaults to EV from a stop. Very useful. Especially in parking lots and drive thru lines. But in traffic, its in EV for a fraction of a second then switches to ICE, UNDER LOAD, and understandably, its not a perfect blend. Now, Driving thru town and the truck switching back and forth is almost effortless. Half the time I only know because the Tach dropped off. The only way to fix this would be to have the ICE start when you take your foot off the brake, Like it does in SPORT mode. But then you couldn't drive thru lots in EV mode. So its a trade off.

On the TRUCK side of things, I've also been very lucky. My biggest complaint by far is the Crappy BMS logic. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the portion of the code that governs the BMS. As expected with this much Tech, There are random glitches and such, But right or wrong, I find that to be expected.

I would 100% buy again. But that being said, If Ford builds its version of Dodges RamCharger, the PowerBoost will be quickly dropped.

Your luck truly sucks. A lemon if we have ever seen one. That being said, Looks like you have roughly 83 issues, of which maybe 7 items are Powerboost related.

Looking more at your events. You have such widespread problems. I bet everything is related. You prolly either have a network issue, software issue or a power or ground issue. I cant believe that you truly have that many widespread issues without there being a common cause.

Literally not one is Power Boost related.
Sounds more like he's regretting buying the truck altogether

95% of my problems are because of me.
I can't keep my hands off the software.
Replace ipma cause I wanted BC 1.2. Ripped out that awful sounding 18 speaker system.
Added openpilot. Tons of forscan stuff. Hand loading updates.

Really the only thing I had go bad was the heat exchanger.

I am so confused on this question. Who has the PB that don't use the PB features?

Really?

Who breathes oxygen that doesn't actually use oxygen?

17 pages. LOL! JS.

The PowerBoost system turns on and off randomly and the control through the infotainment cannot toggle the settings (ie turn it on or off). Sounds like a PowerBoost related issue to me! This complaint has been made several times in this thread as the issue is recurring.

Secondly, I have repeatedly posted that this is the ONLY truck currently on the market that has the features we need. Namely, ProPower Onboard. We don’t regret the purchase one bit - just wish that the truck, you know…worked.
