The PowerBoost system turns on and off randomly and the control through the infotainment cannot toggle the settings (ie turn it on or off). Sounds like a PowerBoost related issue to me! This complaint has been made several times in this thread as the issue is recurring.
Secondly, I have...
Another update: The day after we took our vehicle to Barrie Ford to pursue the Ford Experience Team's suggestion to purchase a new truck, we have a litany of new, documented issues:
the floor boards extend when the truck is in motion and retract when stopped
maps app will not load
running...
Is a list/map of what connectors we could check ourselves? Is there anthing that the community has compiled that may facilitate troubleshooting?
Thanks
We received an offer today from Ford Canada - a $6000 loyalty credit towards purchasing a new truck. Of course, a new truck here costs $92,000 making our after tax burden to move to a new vehicle ~ $35,000.
Our 2021 cost us a little over $80,000, has 44,000km on it and their “best” trade-in...
Based on our experience over the last 18 months of ownership, once a problem develops Ford techs are likely going to have a tough time solving the issue.
If you have a buy back option, take it and run!
If they can't fix it today, they won't fix it tomorrow.
We spoke with the servicing dealer today and they are as frustrated as we are with all of the conflicting information they are receiving from Ford Canada. At this point, the dealer is refusing to work on any of our outstanding issues and will only deal with "no start" conditions moving forward...
If you have been unfortunate enough to wind up with a troublesome truck, be aware that the dealerships will have a difficult time sorting you out as they appear incapable of troubleshooting these complex rolling computers.
Here’s some light reading that will keep you up at night - a record of...
We did look at this and found tons of fuses barely seated. Crazy given how many people have worked in the truck.
Unfortunately seating the fuses properly had no positive impact.
Interesting update: We received an email today from the servicing dealership (Barrie Ford), claiming that we had agreed to accept the extended warranty in our conversation from November 8th. On Nov 9th, I made a post here indicating that we had refused the offer as the vehicle remained...
At least you’re making progress! We are almost two years into ownership and issues from the trucks in-service date have still not been resolved. Horrendous.
These electrical issues seem to be a theme with the newer F150s. I started a similar thread with a litany of issues that dealers have been unable to repair after almost two years.
Did you ever find an effective resolution?
Here's a link to a spreadsheet of our documented dealer visits if anyone is interested to dig into it:
We will keep updating that as we move forward. Ford has generously offered a lengthy extended warranty, but we need to truck to function as step #1.
@Ford Motor Company Any help you can offer here?
I appreciate your contribution but it doesn't seem to have much to do with the content of this thread.
Please feel free to start another thread to debate the transmission and lack of platform "progress" rather than cluttering this with irrelevance.
The increasing complexity of modern vehicles is certainly causing some challenges at the service side of things. I fully agree that a competent and engaged tech should be able to reach a resolution on this.
Just went and did this. Despite the Ford dealers having had the vehicle for months at a time, we found a ton of fuses that were not fully seated. Insane that the techs wouldn't have pursued this early on in the process. That said, I do not remain optimistic that this will resolve this issue...
The OP listed several examples of the types of failures we are experiencing, but here are some more specific examples:
my 72-year-old fell out of the truck to the ground when she instinctively reached for a running board that didn't deploy
in general, the running boards deploy/retract as they...
