Any rust on the 2024s?

When I picked up my Lariat a couple weeks ago, I asked about the rusting issue on the underbody and was told that had been resolved with the 2024 models. I've only had mine a couple weeks, so it is too soon to tell. I'm wondering if other people are noticing the early surface rust or if it truly has been resolved. I know it isn't a big thing, but if it hasn't, I will probably coat my underside.

I picked it up on 6 June. It was blended on 2 May.

Mine has no rust in the areas in your pictures either, but most definitely has the typical surface rust on the other side of the rear diff where it links to the shaft, just like the pre-2024s.

Nothing has changed at Ford.

I'll be getting under there in September or October to wire brush the surface rust and coat it before winter gets here.

I’ve seen several photos on here where the housing of the rear diff is spotted with rust…mine is not like that.

The small interface/coupling plate connected to the drive shaft appears to be unfinished bare metal, and is starting to develop some rust.

Yep, that's where they rust right from the factory. It's not a big deal. Just surface rust. Warm weather builds that weren't driven around Dearborn or Claycomo when the roads were salted likely have less.

Should still put some coating on it even if you don't see rust starting.

I’ve got a March build Lariat and a company XL April build. No rust on either.

My 24' XLT looks good. Have seen some brand new trucks that look awful underneath. Getting the Krown rust proofing done on the 19th. Great investment for 150 bones.

The 2024 501a loaner that I drove for two weeks (with 500 mi. on it) had significant rust developing on the front side of the rear axle and pumpkin but the back side was free of any rust. It's blend date was mid-March.
