I blame @Samson16 for 99% of any/all Forum drivetrain banter.

However, I do realize how difficult it can be to not be a Powerboost Bully. It takes a fair amount of self discipline. He really struggles with that.

?
Et tu Brute?
I was having a bit of fun, but perhaps let it go too long. I certainly think it’s unfortunate when blocking takes place. I disagree with the 99% claim, but message received.

Are you purposely, and repeatedly missing his point completely?…. And ironically simultaneously validating his point.
I don’t like you, you don’t like me. Block me. It’s one simple little trick!

Not true at all; I’ve learned at least as much from you on the 5.0 as I have from any other single subject on these forums.

Simultaneously, I also feel like you may be wearing your 5.0 fandom a little close to the vest…. Which is fine- but it is what it is. Just own it brother!

Both of those things can be true. I think you might be too busy being defensive to consider Dolsen’s advice.

You said it better than I. I think @JExpedition07 provides some good info an insight on the coyote motor.

I also think many people on here fanboy about their particular trim/engine in their truck, myself included, why own a vehicle you hate? But when you feel like any “non-positive” comment about something you like, is a challenge or insult, it just gets old.

Did I use the wrong emoji?
(You should never take me too seriously) I was just using you for cover so I could Powerboost Boast. ?

Snake 2x or 4x4 ? I like your thinking, my mad money would be a 2x 5.0 SCSB w/ trailer tow for the larger 3.73 rear, and Whipple super charged. Plus some Snakebitten suspension tuning, and a set of Brembo's on all four.
I'd have a hard time choosing 2WD since I'd be designing it to get dirty, if you know what I mean.
Not lifted dirty, necessarily, but definitely good manners on the street, yet very capable of beach sand and some off-roading, if called for.
Tent camping.
Teardrop or Toy Hauler (17' single axle) duty too.
It'd be the truck I abused. White paint. Maybe Heritage motif.

People like to laugh at the 3.3 but it’s a stout architecture that was castrated by marketing. It shared a lot with the 3.5 EB motor and is very robust. I think they killed off the original 3.7 as it may have threatened 2.7 sales, and we know ford likes to upsell. Way back in 2011 the cyclone was released with 302 HP and almost 300 TQ, now it’s down to 265 lb ft and 290 HP. At those original output levels many entry level buyers likely would not be swayed to spend extra $$ on the 2.7. It’s been downgraded with every generational update and really sort of a shame. The 2.7 is overall *better* in my opinion with the graphite block and reinforced deck/ extra TQ, but the race for entry level was a lot closer before the consecutive downgrades to the base engine.

My 2012 F150 XLT is the 3.7
I have traveled all over the country in that truck. It's been so reliable and with zero drama that I have kept it while swapping and trading several other trucks.
I think it currently has 107,000 miles. I know for a fact that I can expect many more since I also have the 3.7 in a 2017 Transit 350 (15 passenger family bus) with 190,000.

Honestly, Ford has earned my repeat business for 5 decades. It's not a Gen14 stand alone story.

….till my Cybertruck arrives lol.
Which trim / batt?
For me the stock range in real world is meh. The 600 mile range of the PB w/ 6m recharge time is quite spoiling. As for the performance, the AWD model is the logical choice for price point, but the performance Is something on-par for a stock tuned PB on the low end, while the PB walks away up top, particularly with the 112 limit.

We're still missing a technological piece to really make a BEV truck logical for those that aren't relegated to grocery getting, and that's ignoring the lack of trailer friendly charging entirely.

I gave a co-worker a walkthrough of my truck recently and there are little things about the PB I just take for granted now but jumped out at him as "Wow, this is a lot of truck for the money" moments. For instance, he noted the front cabin 120VAC convenience outlet is 20A and just shook his head. It's like that...everywhere you look.

I own a 2023 screw 5.0 tuned. I came from a 2018 GMC scab 6.2. I like the 5.0 but I have to admit I miss the torque of the 6.2. So I can see why people love the 3.5. Wot the 5.0 is awesome but driving around the 6.2 felt way stronger.

Now, imagine the 6.2 on steroids and you're nearing the PB feeling. ;)
Good thing ending my fanboy behavior wasn't a resolution this year...

Edit: I bet that Avalanche BAP looks sweet!

It's probably true for all the current available drivetrains in an F150, but on occasion I have to make an effort to find a safe place to "work" the wastegates. I'm not a boost launch kind of guy, so I need some room to roll into WOT and let it have a few gears.
It takes more room than some folks might imagine. The time it takes to reach 95mph from say..... 45, is ridiculously short. And you need quite the gap to do so without running up on someone.

These are amazing machines.

And one advantage that I must admit that the coyote has over my Powerboost is I wouldn't have that gnawing burden every few days to work those wastegates? ?
