I feel like i can hear it kick in below 35-40 MPH but it's hard to hear it at highway speeds.

a quick drag calculation shows 276 lb of drag at highway speed and 93 pounds around town. Maybe it's enough to kill the deactivation circuit

Just as a side note. My son has a RAM 1500 with the Hemi.

The cylinder deactivation only kicks on when on the highway.

This makes the most sense. Need power around town, stop/go etc.

Cruising down the highway, much less power is required. Drag dont matter. Keeping a vehicle at 70 requires much less power than driving around town.

This is the same with the 5.0 as far as I know.

Does anyone think the cylinder deactivation kicks in on the highway in eco or normal modes?
I'm pretty sure both, I can't really tell a mileage difference. In Eco the pedal is super heavy, I use that when my 16 year old drives. lol.

At 40 mph your front spoiler activates and comes down. I can't tell when the cylinder deactivation is on or off. I have stock exhaust.
