I have a 2025, XL, RCSB, 4x4 0n order. I've read several articles and watched videos on the cause and solutions to the 10R80 issues. My question is, how are the 24/25 owners finding the updated transmission, ?
Thank you.

I had a 22 Ranger and had tons of issues with the transmission and even had the CDF drum replaced. The transmission ran well for 500 miles and it started hard shifting again.

Traded the Ranger in for my 2024 STX and the transmission is night and day better. No hard shifting or hunting for gears. I’m really happy with it.

I have a 2024 Lariat crew cab and mine has a shudder/vibration while slowing to a stop downshifting from 8th down through 3rd gear. If I’m cruising at 35-40 and slip it into neutral while slowing to a stop it’s smooth, and it will slightly clunk when it comes to a stop like it was stuck in gear. Not sure if it’s the torque converter or the transmission. Hopefully they can fix it with a software update, goes in to my dealer on the 23rd. Has 1750 miles on it.

My '24 rcsb is pretty good. No real complaints.

Oh boy. 1750 miles and an issue. Hopefully, the software update corrects this issue.

Me too. I traded in a 2019 with 50,000 because of transmission issues they kept bandaging up. Ford needs to hire one of the tuner manufacturers guys to show them how to set up the software for these. I know guys with over 200,000 on an Ecoboost w/the 10R80 with a tune with zero issues.

Well, that is Great news !
I've had six Jeeps. All of them incredibly reliable. I buy them new and run everyone over 200k, Then get a new one. My current Rubicon Hardrock has 210K and hasn't been in the shop. I need a truck this time, I'm giving Ford a chance.
I think that I'll keep the Rubicon for a back up vehicle :) !!

When it's warm, I haven't had any issues other than a random clunker in downshifting. When it's cold though, it's pretty terrible.

I'm about to turn 3000 miles on mine and it's been fine so far. It's not the smoothest when it tries to skip 2nd but it's tolerable and I can usually keep it from skipping gears unless I'm stuck in traffic.

I commute 80 miles a day. 50/50 highway/ town.
Wish Ford offered this 5.0 in a manaul 6 speed, like my Mustang.

I would absolutely daily a truck with a stick shift. Too bad Ford hasn't had that in over 15 years :(

I am about to hit to 2k miles soon and the 10R80 is such a huge difference. So buttery smooth at every gears and I am hoping to keep this way.

I had a ‘14 fusion that went through two transmissions tear down under cpo warranty. First at 70k and second at 90k miles. It still having the hard shifts at 1 to 3 and it doesn’t matter if I change out the fluids.

I have a 21 PB with many miles on it. I had the oil & filter changed early and repeatedly. Why? The transmission is a hydraulic machine. Any particles large enough (& that isn't very big) to make a spool valve sticky will cause the above things. So the method to my madness was simply get that stuff out. No matter how hard Ford tries, there will be some manufacturing debris inside the transmission. Is this different than the engine? Well yes and no. The engine has some ability to move particles "away" by the combustion gasses that blowby the rings. In a transmission it can only move them around and cause symptoms that seem to change over time. The transmission filter does some good, but think of the many passages.

my 23 often drops into 1st too. No shudder but does have some clunks up and down.

Mine is a power boost.
