Occupation
Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I contantly was tearing the rear end out of my Western Flyer English Racer. The rear end was the heart of my 3-speed. No rear end, no go. I lemon-lawed them, took the $45 and went and bought a Schwinn for $63. Never had another problem other than paying my dad back the $18.

I think the OP is past the point of lemon law being an option. He could dump it, but where do you go? All makes are garbage. I don’t really see any hope. Look at all the knuckle heads on here that are perfectly content owning trash from trash companies, and they white knight for them every chance they get. The CDF drum bushing issue (among others) took Ford 6 years to update. What reasonable person thinks this a company that cares about customers and acts quickly to correct issues?

Ford truck owners have reported rear wheel lockup at highway speeds just like GM trucks. Will Ford issue a recall? Does it even matter whether a company does the right thing to these people who questioned the validity of the OP’s claims and bashed him for posting on this forum when his truck is only ONE year outside the gen 14’s? And they argue they aren’t white knighting. It’s cognitive dissonance on top of cognitive dissonance. Wake up folks, wake up. You’re a pleb just like the rest of us.

These threads are great morning entertainment.
I understand things break/don't operate properly, but I always get a good laugh when I see the "these trucks are worthless, I paid blah blah blah for this POS". Sell it if you're unhappy, but I promise GM or Ram is going to be more disappointing.

Almost like people forgot that the '97-'08 F150's were less than impressive. These Gen14's are impressive to say the least.
I sold it. Now what should I do oh wise one? Buy another one because you promise RAM and GM are going to be even more disappointing?

2021 XLT Screw 5.0,4x4,302Asport,
Most of those failures occured right out of warranty. As far as the 13th gens, a truck that loses camphasers or burns oil at 80k miles is a total pile of sh*t and sorry excuse for a truck. You shouldn’t have to buy a BS extended warranty just to not shell out THOUSANDS in repairs rights after the factory warranty expires.
What is interesting is if you look outside the Ford ecosystem, you will discover that cam phasers, tensioners, guides all suffer from wear and tear and it isn't just a Ford thing. Its common to many brands. Phasers wear, chains stretch, and tensioners run out of the ability to take up the wear. Engines that don't suffer from it tend to have belts not chains that need replacing every 100,000 miles together with tensioners, water pumps and anything else that gets driven by the belt.

Would you prefer Ford to include service interval to replace the phasers, tensioners, guides and chains or switch to belt drive timing system?

Phasers are not a wear item. You sound like Ford. Phaser rattle was normal per Ford, until they came out with revised phasers. Technically, the whole damn engine is a wear item, but people with experience know phasers should last the life of an engine. Timing chains should too. They used to until DI. That’s why all the four bangers went to chains. They were supposed to be lifetime items. This new generation has been accustomed to cheap crap and they don’t know any better. But I do get a good laugh at the trained keyboard monkeys that have their egos all wrapped up in a mediocre machine.

These idiots saying there’s YouTube videos to fix Ford’s 10r80 failures have never pulled a transmission in their life. They live in a delusional online world. If they had, they would be madder than hell at having to pull the transmission to fix Ford’s failures. All the mechanics I know, including the local Ford techs, say all vehicles made in the last decade are absolute garbage. Funny, the guys that work on them every day have a very different opinion then the net.

Well thank goodness the Gen14 F150 community has you here to remind us that we all own garbage. It'd be tragic if anyone was actually happy with theirs. Especially those that have been relatively trouble free.
