Dealer transmission fluid change…

Went to my loval Ford dealer this week and asked about changing my transmission fluid at 30k miles on my 2024 KR PB Hybrid.
My service advisor said they vacuum out approximately 12 quarts of transmission fluid at or near operating temperature than replace it with the same amount. They then drive for a short distance and re-check fluid level and adjust accordingly. He said trans filter change at 60k miles is what they typically do/recommend. Total cost for fluid change is approximately $400.
I didn’t think this charge was way off compared to what I’ve read others have paid on this forum.

That feels reasonable for the work described. I plan to look into doing a drain and fill myself when the time comes but if I CBA to do it myself I'd be fine with that price.

If $400 is for a filter change on a PB, I'd grab that with both hands but if just for a pump n fill, what does the pump and heat gauntlets cost? 70 bucks?

That said, other than forscan, is there a way to know the proper temp? We now know that because of thermal expansion of the fluid, the proper level cold, won't even show on the dipstick.

You’d have to do approx 2 drain and fills to compare to the dealer service to get the same new fluid in. I honestly think u can’t go wrong either way.
