I've been thinking about doing the ATF, Diffs, and TC at ~7yr/75k and then again at ~14yr/150k. Having the ESP with 8y/100k, I'd like to have some time after the dealer cracks open the lungs to make sure everything is still cooking good while still under warranty.

I just got a full fluid change on my Powerboost at 3 yrs/30K. I got side eye and they asked me if I was sure but then went ahead and did it. Transfer case fluids also been freshened up. Transfer case maybe around year 5. By 75K the only factory fluid left in it will be coolant which I won't worry about until 100.

On my Gen2 Tundra dealers never wanted to do anything but pan drops and drain and fills before 100K. Then most higher mileage owners said If you came in at the factory recommended interval of 90 or 100 never having touched it before they would refuse to do a full fluid swap.

With my Powerboost I went in asking for a drain and fill thinking they'd push me in that direction anyway and they said they generally don't mess with those on these trucks, they just suck it all out and replace it. So I told them to have at it.

On my 09 Crewmax I got 3 or 4 drain and fills by 113K and it was shifting the same as the day I bought it when I traded it.

The Toyota dealers were far more argumentative about touching my transmission early in the truck's life. Some even called it lifetime fluid.

Ford dealer was more than happy to take my money, just with an obligatory reminder it was kinda early so they couldn't be accused of forcing premature work on me.

I recomend a service (pan drop and filter change) every 50k and inspect fluid condition.
If needed flush system, it is hard to flush on these with the cooler bypass system, Some guys
will pull pan and loosen valve body bolts and let it drain over night to get the converter drained

Will that drain the converter?

That would be good news to me personally. I have a lift, so this old man could leave it draining however long is required.

Get an oil extractor and suck out as much fluid as you can. Then refill with the same amount. You will end up at the same level, be it too low, hi or just right.
Exactly what I do. If you buy the big 6qt extractor/re-filler you have way less room for error. Just suck out all you can get, mark the level. Drain, refill with fresh and pump it in. No need to even clean the insides since 9 more quarts of the same fluid is still in there.
