How do you perform the PMI in FDRS?
You click the apim in the first page of FDRS and it will bring up a list of the guided routines you can perform on that module. You just look for the PMI in that list.

Anyone else running into issues trying to update here this weekend? Pretty sure I'm seeing the same issues as @jtrimm on his thread.

Bought a wonderful new two day pass, updated FDRS to 46.5.6, and insta fails every update on my list as soon as the cab goes dark and the programming kicks off. I can Retry or Exit the programming, but retry doesn't do anything and luckily exit wakes everything back up again like it should. Only thing that has changed in my setup since I last updated back in April is updated FDRS and my computer updated to Win 11, everything else is the exact same.

Going to try my old laptop here and see what it does. So I guess that is only plus of the new $120 license, multiple computers and no license key anymore... 🙃
Update here, went back to FDRS 45.6.8 and that seemed to solve my issue, updating now with no issue. So must be something up with 46.5.6 in my case at least.

Thanks everyone! I'll leave that USB in there and go about my business. I really appreciate all the support.
Right on time! 3 weeks later and it appears that the USB update as taken my SYNC from version 20262 to 21166 Rev145. Does this mean that I am ready to restart my FDRS subscription and continue with the APIM, GWM, TCU, etc.. ?

Amazing everytime I see this reported!

Congratulations. Tenacity wins.

And yes, now go use FDRS to take you as far as is possible, with the current limit Ford has regarding.

So I did the master reset, the battery pull for 20+ minutes, then the PMI, and then attempted the software update selecting to remove the audio files. Did a 3GB file push onto the USB stick. I also changed USB sticks, going with a higher speed 128GB stick, rather than a standard 32GB stick. Update did not take immediately, but it did start the same day, later that afternoon after about the 3-4th drive of the day. Have been able to process one more update afterwards, up to 22**** something. And they seem to be going smoothly now. Will try another update push today or tomorrow morning.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!

Good news: I was able to bring my '21 PB all the way up from the factory software to version 22293 with full screen android auto! Big thanks to @rugedraw for his support and his mongoose cable lease program!

Bad news: along the way (during the software update process), I picked up a 'Trailer brake system fault see manual' error that appears each time I start the truck. Self-test in FDRS is showing " U0143 = Lost Communication With Body Control Module 'C' ". Here is what I've tried so far:
1. Pulled, inspected, and reinstalled fuses 91 and 42 (trailer tow light module and trailer brake control module) to try and reset the TRM.
2. Ran the ' Trailer Module (TRM) Configuration ' task in FRDS.
3. Inspect the trailer connectors. No corrosion apparent. Seems clean.

There is a BCM update that I can't run without a NASTF log-in.

I have a few hours of FDRS access remaining before we leave for thanksgiving. Is there anything else I should try?

Sorry latest version out in November is 46 5 6
Sorry, I should have said 46.5.6 is not itself news. What is news is that it’s causing problems since its release last week and shouldn’t be used until Ford cleans it up.

What kind of DTC are you getting? Continuous or stored? Communication glitches frequently resolve themselves. If this is stored DTC, try using the “Clear and Retest” button in FDRS to clear the DTC and see if it comes back.

The NASTF restriction only applies to the BCM. It does not apply to the BCM-C, which is the communication error you’re getting.

The DTC is continuous. It comes back after a "Clear and Retest".
