That's nothing.
Once I back up that 250', I then can turn the truck sharply 90° left in front of the chicken coop, and then be pointing forward. It's about 750' to get to the frontage road.

It's called wooded
Cut the fewest number of trees down possible to preserve a lifestyle.

As for the gizmos, gadgets, and technology in my F150, I intentionally ordered it with it all. (sans the panoramic roof)
In my opinion it's the nicest truck I've ever owned in my 7 decades on the planet, and so far has been stellar! Zero regrets.

Admittedly, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I get that. I wish they still built them with hand cranked windows for those that prefer. I just purchased an F350 in barebones XLT trim, and it might have been even cooler if it had hand crankers. ?
It's a beast of a truck, but truly bare compared to my F150.
We too have along driveway in the woods. But in the middle of 20 acres, had no concerns cutting a couple more trees so we can turn around. I'm a site designer by trade and in 40 years I've never had a client that would have accepted an arrangment that had 'em backing that far, trees be damned. A sexy curve here and there to preserve particular specimens, certainly. Different strokes, I guess.

Just hillbilly-me and my tractor. ?
No doubt there's a lot that could be improved, but the county tax assessor ain't my friend.

HA! Just be ready for the tax assessor. When he gets to the chicken coop have a couple of fellas come out of the bushes with banjos. Then ask the guy if he's Ned Beatty's brother. You may never see him again. :)

The truck I ordered is an XL regular cab short bed 4X4 5.0 with the 103A package. I was disappointed that I couldn't tweak it a little more with some 20" wheels and a rear-exit dual exhaust. But you have to bump it up to another trim level. I'm just gonna have to get that stuff done myself. (I may as well throw in a cold air intake too.)
As for the camera, yeah it's gonna be a whole lot easier backing my little boat trailer down that gravel ramp.

I’ve gotten so comfortable with 360 cameras you could black out all my windows and I can still drive slowly around a parking lot, find a spot, and put it right between the lines ?

This is my hope as well. My APIM crashes about once a week at startup and Ford has given me the run-around that they cant "reproduce" the issue when I brought it in for the problem. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants they need to finally fix my APIM, whether through software or an APIM replacement. My VIN falls within this recall fortunately, but sounds like they are still figuring out a solution.

Simple fix to the "we cannot replicate the issue"line in 5 easy steps.

1. Make an appointment with the dealer for APIM "issues" .
2. Night before service, locate the APIM module and remove it from the truck.
3. Take a stun gun and zap the ever loving piss out of it.
4. Reinstall the APIM.
5. Take it to the dealer and they identify the APIM has failed and replace it.

So, after receiving this email from Ford (after months of no communication at all) I reached out to the dealership to see if they had an idea of when the truck may be delivered and all I get is crickets. Ford never kept me updated in spite of saying they would update me "every 45 days". And of course, the "Order Tracking" site is down. Again. I am frustrated by Ford and the dealership who has had my $4000 deposit since January 25 and has updated me with NOTHING. If the truck ever does get delivered, I'm inclined at this point to demand my deposit back, cancel the order. If this is how Ford rolls, I think I'll just buy a Ram.

My 2021 freezes up and blacks out during reverse a few times a month. My OTA updates are way behind also.

My 10R80 hard shifts are getting worse and in more gears too...

Oh, still waiting on the 2.7L EB valve recall fix to come from Ford also...

Waiting for delivery of my 2025 F-150. I guess I'll find out if the camera works. I'll probably look over my shoulder anyway. It's hard to trust technology.
(Us old guys were taught to back up that way.)
I was backing into the driveway yesterday with my adult son in the passenger seat and he said to me what are you doing? I said backing up. But the camera is right there, I said un-huh.

The new vehicle order tracking page is terrible. Sometimes it works and most times it gives an error saying the VIN provided does not match the order number. And when you try to offer feedback, it gives another error. I suppose someone at Ford thinks this shit is funny. I'm not amused. Maybe that's why Ford sales are going into the toilet. As a new customer, this is not a good start. If Ford is depending on blind loyalty to keep them going, they are sadly mistaken. No wonder F-150 sales have been eclipsed by Toyota for the first time in 47 years.

This forum has rant posts from Ford customers waiting on their vehicle since the day it was established.
And it's very common for the predictions of Ford's demise, as a result.
But it's the first I've ever seen of Toyota selling more trucks than Ford. That sounds like hyperbole, at best.

I completely understand the rant(s) though. I waited 6 months for my 3 year old Powerboost. (which, by the way, has been worth that wait and more) I have been waiting 4 months, currently, for a 2025 Maverick. I just don't see Ford is very good at, or even has a clue about how to foster a customer service relationship with the special order customer. Thank goodness they are pretty competitive at actually building trucks. :)

The RAV 4 became the #1 selling vehicle just last year. Surpassing the F-150.

To expand on that: It's not hyperbole that the Toyota RAV4 outsold the Ford F-150 in the U.S. in 2024. The RAV4 became America's best selling vehicle for the first time in 2024, after the F-150 had held the top spot for 47 years. F-150 sales dropped 5% in 2024 while RAV4 sales increased 9%.
having said that, I'm not going to buy a RAV4 but I think it's a wake-up call Ford needs to answer. And leaving potential new customers dangling without answers is not a good plan. Ford seems to depend too much on blind loyalty to the blue oval.

Obviously I thought the context of your claim was something other than Truck vs economy SUV.

That's far less about the F150 falling in any significant manner, but rather another alternative (to pickup truck) vehicle increasing it's popularity.

Or put another way, I doubt there is a significant number of RAV4 buyers that chose the RAV4 because of F150 flaws.

My issue was never with Ford quality. I didn't mean to imply that Ford made bad trucks. Over the years I've owned quite few used pickups including a 1966 F-100, a 1987 F-150, a 1992 GMC Sierra, 2008 Chevy Silverado (a new purchase).
My current vehicle is a hemi-equipped 2012 Ram 1500 express which I've owned since 2018. I chose to buy a new F-150 because I know Ford makes great trucks.
My issue is with the terrible job Ford is doing to retain customers. It's no secret that at one point, the F-150 Lightning experience a 75% cancelation rate for pre-orders because of some very poor planning by Ford leadership. That should never happen. The dealership I'm working with for my new F-150 order told me he is experiencing a 40% cancelation rate among preordered F-150s. His hands are tied in frustration with Ford's lack of communication with customers who get just plain tired of waiting. He has an inventory of trucks he paid for that were canceled before they were delivered. (He had no regular cab short bed trucks available however.)
I'm sure my truck will be delivered eventually. I wouldn't mind the wait if I was kept in the loop but the Ford Motor Company doesn't seem to give a shit about canceled orders since they are the problem of the dealerships.
