It is called a modern convenience. Some people may struggle to understand why people drive cars when horses and bicycles exist.
I understand them, I just don't understand when people get indignant because they can't have them anymore.

I think there's a word to describe those people- SAWFT. :)

Would you call if soft if people took up issue if Ford stopped including HVAC or power steering ?

Probably.

This is only my second vehicle with working AC. I'm somehow still alive.

Does anyone have any extra sesame seeds they can share, preferably ones that have been prelicked? If so, send them my way. As far as the new stick on keypad, yeah, very poor execution.
You prefer prelicked things, eh?

Well, they kind'a did because it's not the same product, doesn't look the same or function the same (if you need batteries for it, it does not function the same).
Subjective opinions aside, it most certainly still provides the exact same functionality.

You can still order a SecuriCode keypaid when ordering your truck.
It's still installed on the driver's door.
It still has the same 5 buttons with 2 digits per button.
You still use a 5-digit code to operate it.
You still press the same buttons to unlock the driver's door, unlock all other doors, lock all doors, or release the tailgate.

If it was DROPPED, it would not be an option to order, install, or use.

At least we can all understand where you're coming from. :)
Ya, I really struggle with why anyone would want half of this stuff, let alone throw tantrums over it.

Hell, my key has a button that unlocks the doors. I'm living in the 22nd century for me.

So with this logic, Ford can put a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter engine in your Ecoboost ordered truck, it will be the same, drive the same, no?! Yeah, it looks different, a few less HP, but it functions exactly the same.

Would it still be an engine? Yes.
Would it be a V8 engine? No.
Would it provide the same functionality? Nope - can't tow as much, can't haul as much, gets different gas mileage, etc. Different engine = different functionality = different results.

On either keypad, enter 5 digit code to open? Yup!
On either keypad, enter 5-digit code plus other button to perform other tasks? Yup - exact same!
On either keypad, press bottom two buttons to lock? Yup!

Other than how it LOOKS or FEELS, the stick-on keypad provides the EXACT same, identical functionality as the previous one. I clearly detailed that in post #96.

Next!

You don't really need to memorize the factory code. You can program a custom code and use that. I use mine all the time.
This, right here.

Just out of curiosity, care to share your custom code with the rest of us? ?

Ah yes, someone disagrees with you, obviously they must be (insert whatever).
My previous two trucks were Tundras and didn’t have the now DROPPED* keypad, so I too used to be a bumper guy.

*that word was used for the elephant man. ?

I am wondering how long will the double side tape hold on.
And what will happen to the car behind if the keypad decides to let it go on a 80mph freeway to act as a projectile...
I wouldn't trust it to hold too long taking abuse from the harsh weather elements, dirt, salt, etc. :poop:
