Thanks for all of the info an great write up on how to get into the door panel. I have a 2025 F150 Lariat. I just took my door off and verified I have the fl3z style connector.

I put the keypad, trim panel, and forscan adapter on my Christmas list with links to online Ford dealers. A family member went to the local Ford dealer to order the parts from them. The local Ford dealer insisted the securicode keypad could be installed on my truck but said I would have to reprogram it every time an over the air update installed.

Has anyone had any issues with having to reprogram after an update is installed? Any issues at all? I haven't seen any posts about that so I assume the parts guy just doesn't know what he is talking about.

The dealer told them (and ordered one) I needed the stick on wireless keypad....

Thanks in advance!

I've not had any issues since installing the wired keypad in the middle of October 2025. I know that I've had a couple of software updates since then and it hasn't needed reprogramming. I have had to change some of my dash setting through the steering wheel buttons, specifically turning off eco-coach and adjusting the two programable gauges after updates.

They ordered the stick on key pad and the trim panel for the wired keypad? Wonder how they thought those would be used together.

My wifes 25 Explorer had this added several months after it was purchased, she has received several OTA updates and they have had no impact. Yes I know............

25 Platinum. I've had many OTA updates and even dealer installed updates such as cluster and brake module, zero issues with my wired keypad install and FORScan changes. I use the keypad daily and no chance I would settle for the sticker while the hardwired option is available.

So the physical installation is complete. I’m having trouble getting my license from forscan. I’m gonna retry this morning and see if I can’t figure it out. The job was simple enough. My R and R was exactly as described by the op. Snaking the wire down the right way in the door took me a while to get right. Two and a half hours total time but that was at least a half hour trying to route the harness correctly… it just fought me

Me. Big Fish, not to change the subject but to change the subject, I saw the rolling cart that you are using and it looks nice. Do you like it and if so could you let me know where you bought it and approximate cost?
Thanks, Steve

Thanks! I Agree, I used the keypad on my 2012 all the time!

I saw this thread months ago and was very encouraged. I just recently bought a '25 Platinum and am planning to do this mod. Have there been any examples of '25s that did not end up having the empty harness in the door?

I realize you're asking for any that DID NOT have the harness, just wanted to pass along the part numbers that worked perfectly for my 25 Platinum.

$39.54 Actuator (keypad)
Part Number: FL3Z14A626AH

$94.57 Exterior Door Moulding
Part Number: FL3Z1520555SG

I cant imagine Ford not including the wiring, maybe not in a low end model, because they are in the market to sell these and make money.

Picked up a '25 XL RCSB last month, saw this thread and got excited on doing the mod.........luckily I opened up the door panel and checked first only to find no harness or dummy plug exists

i did talk to the service guy he had to ask around the shop he called me with more questions took my vin then called the next day with his response.
honestly if I’m able to lock my key fob in with the stick on option I’d settle for it. Does that work like the hardwire keypad all the same ???
I’ll hide the extra key on the truck for a real emergency plus use the app if I must.
Ok so I was at the dealer they still can’t give me an answer on the stick on working in beach mode. Been over a week they have working on just that answer. Also they(ford dealership) don’t use forscan to program the keypad in the pillar they say it’s more of a aftermarket system they say I could find some aftermarket shop but it’s a lot of reprogramming. He also said they have had problems with the keypad clips breaking and having to replace those more often than having issues with the stick on one.

Got mine on today.
2025 xlt 302a .
Used parts as describe in frost post

can’t program until tonight.. or tomorrow when my forscan adaptor gets in.
Keypad doesn’t light up yet— assuming will work once enabled/ programmed. Etc

thanks for all the tips. Hardest part is figuring how to route the cables.
