On a serious note, I wonder which battery will go first, FOB, Securi-CPad, or the main Truck battery. And, if they all go out within the same week, FORD will have completed the ultimate trifecta to that owner.

Just talked to my dealer and it


@UGADawg96 The dealer installed this illuminated option before my wife's 2024 Escape purchase, and it is covered under my ESP. (It became and DIO in 2024 for the Escape Platinum only).

They said it wouldn't be covered if I installed it later. I didn't ask about the body shop installing it later and paying for the installation.

This was the b-pillar DIO for $350, NOT the dumb stick on which I would NEVER buy.

Based on the Escape I would say no.

In 2024, only the Platinum Escape had the wiring to the b-pillar therefore this wasn't an option for the entire ST-Line models. In 2025, the wiring is no longer present in any model.

I would bet that the 2025 F150 doesn't have the wiring to the b-pillar.

And can I install it myself?

I have one of those inside the fuel door of my 2012 F-150. For 13 years now, never replaced the battery, and it still works. I would love to do the same when I get my 2025.

@flixden Yes it can be purchased from a dealership parts department or Ford's accessory website.

If you know how to program a new fob you can do it yourself.
