Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just tried it on my 23 XLT and it worked using the keypad as per the instructions posted. Prolly won't use it a lot but will come in handy once in a while.

Think that is only for the non powered tailgate release.

Finally remembered to try it on mine this morning, it worked. '22 Lariat 500A, without the power up tailgate.

I have not been able to open tailgate with keypad. Manual says you can. Dealer says he can’t fix.
anyone else have this issue.

Tried my 24 Lariat and it opens with the keypad.

Just to throw mine in there too...I didn't even know this was a thing, but I just tried it. 2021 without power lift tailgate on latest firmware as of 5/7/2025. Worked perfectly.
