I've used the keypad extensively on each truck that had one up until I got my 24 XLT. It has the keypad too, and I've used it a time or two, but the keyfob proximity sensor and the lock button on the door handle have changed my entry and exit routine.

I don't really need the keypad, but it is nice to have if I need something in the truck and I don't have the fob with me. I'd rather have it than not though.

Maybe it's a bit of semantics, but I would say they dropped it.
I can say I'm an elephant, but that doesn't make me an elephant.

If they dropped it, you would not be able to order it when ordering a new truck.

Ford is a manufacturer, and they no longer offer this option.
The absolutely do offer this as an option when you order a brand new truck right now.

Ford F-150 Goodbye: Securicode Keypad šŸ¤” 1738878232889-vq

A Ford Dealer can now install a similar but different product.
There are many options you can purchase when you order your vehicle, and many of them are dealer-installed options. But you're not buying it from a dealer - you're buying it from the manufacuter. That's what optional equipment is.

Thank you for your contribution to this thread.
So only those who whine and cry about the SecuriCode not being a factory standard feature are considered useful contributors to this thread? I would say just the opposite.

I guess I will stand with the other articles listed with a quick google search that says that Ford has ā€œdroppedā€, or ā€œditchedā€, or ā€œdiscontinuedā€ the keypad. Maybe your cut and paste is from a 2024 online ordering.?

And for the keypad likers and users, there’s a difference. Coming from the factory, it was integrated into the b-pillar, hard wired, and looked like it was supposed to be there. The dealer add on looks cheap, temporary and something that might need its batteries changed if it doesn’t fall off or get stolen.

It’s like you’ve joined a group that’s commenting about a dish at a restaurant that’s changed ingredients to tell us that it’s really not changed, but that you never ate it anyway.

No one is saying that or crying.

All, with in certain rules, are welcomed to comment whatever they want. There are many threads on many topics. I prefer to contribute to topics/subjects that appeal to me. You must be the other guy.

Just because three or four or five other people say they are elephants doesn't make them elephants. :)

Nope. 2025 right now. Maybe spend less time reading "other articles with a quick google search" and hop on over to ford.com and access the 2025 build tool yourself?

Irrelevant. Many parts and components on a vehicle "look" different and/or use different technology (e.g., wireless vs wired) get changed year to year or generation to generation. That doesn't mean a seat isn't still a seat nor a steering wheel isnt' a steering wheel.

It's still the Ford SecuriCode Keypad. Fact.

If I order a hamburger and the restaurant starts serving it with a sesame seed bun today even though the bun they used to served it with didn't have sesame seeds, it's still a hamburger.

You effectively told @UncleFester that his comment was not relevant because he didn't jump on the "bash Ford for changing the SecuriCode keypad" bandwagon. I simply disagreed with you.

They still offer the keypad.
You can still order it with your new truck order.
It looks a little different.
It uses a different power source and method to comminate with the truck.
It gets installed at the dealership instead of at the factory.
But it still does the exact same thing.

I've made my point quite clearly. I'm done.

That looks ridiculous on an $85K vehicle.

Do what they did on my wife's 2024 Escape: Leave the wiring in the b-pillar and make it a DIO. Her keypad/b-pillar was in a box, and the body show swapped it within an hour of the Escape being delivered. It looks and works great, and I was happy to pay the $225 for it (it's actually nicer than the F150 as it is touch).

Yep that stick on ugly blob, "if it's the same as the one's on the other Ford models", has a Non Replaceable Battery, NOT hardwired powered as in all the other previous years. From what I've read on the Ranger and Maverick forums, once the battery dies, a new one has to be purchased and programmed by the dealership. (I can't say thats 100% true but assume its accurate). IMO thats really a stupid move by Ford. I can understand it not being standard, but at least have the hardwired one as an option for all of us that love the feature and use it every day. Just my opinion.

Whoa! You really like elephants!

Ooooh, I love your hamburger bun analogy though. Let’s riff on that one for a bit….

1). A group loves this place for their burgers and sesame seed buns.
2). The place stops buying/making sesame seed buns, but instead has a waitress lick some different looking sesame seeds and sticks them on the buns.
3). A group of us starts commenting about how we don’t like the newly ā€œcreatedā€ sesame seed buns and prefer the old way.
4). You come by and tell us it’s not changed even though you never liked sesames either way and never ate sesame seed buns.

So, to you and Uncle Fester, I say….thank you for your contribution.

1. It looks like crap.
2. You have to pay extra money for it.
3. You have to rely on the dealership for installation.
4. Can easily be stolen / removed.

Sorry couldn't resist.

There is nothing to contribute to this thread other than bitch about a minor option being deleted and then make random threats that you're never buying a Ford again because of whatever reason.

Only to turn around and buy another new truck in 3 years.

And no, I don't complain about anything having to do with soccer because there is no circumstance possible where I would be voluntarily watching soccer.

You’re going to get in trouble for saying it’s deleted. According to some, it’s like the same bro.

Which is worse…..

1). Peeps complaining about a minor option being deleted.
2). Peeps complaining about people complaining about a minor option being deleted.
3). Having to watch soccer.

ps. I love my 2023 with factory keypad!!!!
