Say what? Tell me more. Was this a 2025 F-150, and if so what trim level?

There’s discussion on this in some other threads that the ‘24 lower trim levels (specifically STX)lacked the wiring harness in the door, one would assume that the harness has been deleted all together across trim levels for ‘25.
On the 2024 Escape the wiring is only available on the Titanium model. So maybe the wiring exists on the KR and Platinum for 2025 F150s??

Other than setting it up with a code and testing when I first got it I've never used mine. I'm sure this is a useful feature for some situations, but I have yet to find it. Considering the popularity of removing things like factory decals and aero fender tabs for a "cleaner" look, I would think that not having the key pad would be welcomed by some.
My dog rides with me daily. I hop out with climate control running, press the two bottom keypad buttons to lock and i don’t have to worry about my pup throughout the day while running quick errands. It’s an incredibly simple and efficient no nonsense feature that’s loved by those who use it.
I understand it isn’t for everyone, but at least make the wired keypad an option for those willing to spend extra on it.

I'm torn. I have the door keypad, and it is useful, however I have yet to use it on this truck. Probably just because I haven't memorized the code yet. But I do like the idea of being able to hide the other one somewhere, like in the gas filler door. Of course thats been discussed enough that its probably no longer a "hiding" spot.

I'm upset they took my rain sensing wipers away, and gave me back auto start stop...but I know those are pretty easy fixes all things considered.
You don't really need to memorize the factory code. You can program a custom code and use that. I use mine all the time.

I guess you'll never buy another Ford truck then.

I do admit that I've relied on mine (old style) every single day on every new Ford truck I've bought (a bunch). When it comes time for a new truck, I'm not going to buy a GM, Dodge, or Toyota simply because the door keypad on the Ford looks bad.
I replied to several people on several different forums making this comment. I'll jump in ... When I and many say it I mean I will never buy another "new" Ford. It's been nice having new, but I did that to have the latest features. Many of us don't want to pay more for less. While I'm at the dealership getting an oil change my 24' XLT has a keypad and this $90,000 Platinum on the lot doesn't... That's problematic for a lot of people. I've already said my 24' will be my last new truck. But then again I'm getting older and I don't see the advantage anymore.

For many of us this is twofold. Ford won't be receiving profits from us purchasing used Ford pickups. Also if you don't use it I understand, but it is still a built-in option that has been deleted.

Just like my 19' XLT with a heated steering wheel and my 24' without.

Many give us too much authority of doing things. Sometimes deletions are made without consultation of Finance/Acctg. Most of times we are consulted but there are times not. So, not the truth.
Absolutely nothing is changed on these vehicles without consideration of the financial implications of doing or not doing that. Fact. Truth. I've worked for Ford (or another big US name) or as a Tier 1 supplier for Ford for more than 36 years now.

Seriously though! I test drove a ‘25 and realized the keypad was gone and that alone was the deciding factor in not moving forward with the purchase.
So you are seriously going to by a GM, Toyota, or some other brand because the Ford lacks a keypad?

Of ALL the deletions, cutbacks, cost savings…. deleting the driver door Securicode Keypad for MY 2025 has got to be one of the worst decisions to come out of the Ford ‘think tank’. I personally feel the keypad has long set these trucks apart from competitors simply from the standpoint of convenience.

I just stopped to look at a MY 2025 Platinum MSRP $85k and saw the dealer installed keypad option, stuck to the door with doubled sided tape.

I know Ford monitors this forum and I sure hope someone is getting their ass chewed out over this.

Wait....is that the driver side door? Where's the door handle?

Your money, your wallet, so nobody can/should tell you what to buy. But basing it SOLELY on whether or not it has a factory keypad on the door sounds, IMHO, ridiculous.

I knew that would come up. I'm terrible at this, and I would rather not reuse a custom code that I might be using somewhere else. So if I am going to make a new one, and have to remember that, then I might as well memorize the one it came with.

My Key stays in my truck 100% of the time. I don't carry keys at all because of it. I'm beginning to use the Ford App more and more now that there's buttons in the phone's control center but 95% of the time I use the keypad.
Wish we could use phone as key, I think the mach e and lightning are the only ones though? Leaving the key in the truck is a non starter for me. I still need house keys, and keys to my wifes car, so doesn't make sense to carry those and not this one. Still phone as key would be nice.

Well for some of us when a company starts going in the wrong direction. Screwing over their customers with excessive cost cutting and what seems like more time at the dealership dealing with repairs. Our only retaliation as customers is to stop purchasing their new trucks. And I know I'm not alone in this.

I use the key pad on a regular basis. I have changed the pad code on the Lincoln to the same as the truck. Agreed, the deletion of the key pad was/is a really dumb move! Bean counters reign supreme!

I agree that removing the keypad was a dumb decision. It’s a useful tool that nobody else offers/has offered and set Ford apart. I used it all the time on my 2018, was nice to leave the key in the truck when you’re out camping, hiking, on the water, or even parked at the airport. No need to worry about losing the keys. They’ll probably tell you, well you can just use the app to lock/unlock, yeah but doesn’t really work outside of cell reception.
As for cost cutting, why get rid of the keypad yet keep rear parking sensors as standard on a vehicle that already has a backup camera and big screen? To me that’s just redundant and pointless, I turned my rear sensors off the day I got my truck and never heard em beep once.
