if this is the issue, and it sure seems to be, sorry to have wasted so much of your time with our collective stupidity. There was no seatbelt law when I started driving and I’ve always been too stubborn to wear one. Maybe this is a sign I (we? ) should be. In a way I am relieved we finally figured this out. In another I feel like an idiot.

Nah.. its all good. I was let down I couldnt get it working. Im glad it is a simple fix.

I really never ever thought about the seatbelt. I just got a video confirming the seatbelt is the reason. So yeah. It is that. Im sure its apart of the requirements as they increase the ability.

Probably not necessary but Im going to update again as soon as I can to confirm as well and will probably also turn the hitch assist back on to rule that out as being part of the issue where that “fixed” it for the first few PBs. I don’t use the hitch assist but still curious.

Is seltbelts not mandatory in all states in the US? They are in Canada. Just wondering.

There was some story a while back of an idiot filming his vehicle driving while he was in the back seat if I remember right. This is probably a partial reason for the seatbelt override on self driving vehicles.

Now all that is left is to test it with a seatbelt on and the trailer hitch assist enabled. I reached out to the hitch assist guys but still haven’t heard back if they were wearing their seatbelt or not. It was long enough ago they may not remember.

I have auto hitch enabled. I don't think that affects anything.

I wear my seatbelt most of the time. Funny thing occurs when you watch compliance crash videos and look at insurance / injury data for vehicles. Despite the F150 being a truck, the bodily injury coverage is quite a bit higher than the mach e on my insurance (initial reason for looking into it more). F150 bodily injury odds are more likely fwiw.

Also, I'm totally not suggesting that you can/should just plug in your seatbelt and sit on it, aka the 'OG chime bypass'. No matter how hard they try, there's always an easy bypass.
