It looked like your hands on lane centering was still working once you took the seatbelt off. Is that the case? My hands on lane centering wouldn’t even work.

I'll have to try it out again tomorrow on the way to work to check LC, but if this is the cause, I'd be lmfao if it weren't for the mission we put Jesse on. Lol

Correct, like I said lane centering will still stay engaged for that session until it disengages/kicks out, but nothing will re-engage, LC or BC, until belt is clicked back in.

My bad I haven’t been keeping up with the thread the last couple days. Just went back and saw where you said that.

This is absolutely insane if it’s actually the reason why we were all having trouble.

So I guess the question is, if this theory really plays out to be true, is it worth us guys who had to rollback dropping another $50 on a 2 day license to upgrade again? What are the real differences between the two IPMA versions?

Absolutely nuts lol. Yeah try to enable BC without your seatbelt on and see if it says LC unavailable. Although it does seem
@superfordman says he’s already tested this. Won’t engage without seatbelt but will stay on hands free LC if seatbelt is removed mid BC. Fucking wild

No worries, only figured it out hours ago ?

Like ruge said, prly not worth it right now. I don't even have BC so just LC for me and the last version has been awesome all year, to the day almost when I updated last actually. So far can't see much of a difference yet but only ran it two days and on the highway so far.

? well, I try to wear it all the time on the highway, but usually don't short trips running around, where its always worked before right away, so was like wtf. Today when I got back on the highway again where it should have worked and always has in the past, no go, so put my belt on due to habit and guess what happen, engaged right away. So at that point I was pretty much like @rugedraw, you gotta be kidding me... lol

Thanks for confirming. It’s definitely starting to look like the one thing we all have in common and @rugedraw ’s test all but confirms it.

I still can’t believe there was no DTC or warning on the IPC.

I always wear mine I didnt ever even think people dont wear theirs.. its the first thing I do when I get in. IT would definitely explain why it works for some and not others.

Ill have to look in the firmware or have someone look for me to see if that is in there.

if this is the issue, and it sure seems to be, sorry to have wasted so much of your time with our collective stupidity. There was no seatbelt law when I started driving and I’ve always been too stubborn to wear one. Maybe this is a sign I (we? ) should be. In a way I am relieved we finally figured this out. In another I feel like an idiot.

Is seltbelts not mandatory in all states in the US? They are in Canada. Just wondering.
