Every time I look at the tiny little pipes I can't help but think of how restrictive they are. Anyone make a larger pipe with a proper stator to prevent the turbo causing a vortex and restricting / stalling the compressor?

You just cut out this part? I'll have to look at mine. I guess this part is flexible and can fold back and block airflow. Is that the problem?

That's why I recommended the Velossa Tech kit, it'll shove air into the intake
Does this also shove rain/water into the intake? I wish I didn't have to remove the whole front bumper....

That is just my assessment of why Ford is removing it. I checked mine and found it to be quite flexible on the 2023. It wouldn't directly block airflow, but it does create a nice wall for the air to have to get around. Perhaps Hammaman is correct on cost cutting for '24 and theirs is even thinner/more flexible. Honestly, this is likely a non-issue for 21-23, but I didn't like the design so I cut mine to match Tank's. YMMV.

It might be just me not understanding but what is the fix? To cut a hole like the one circled? The video with the leaf blower is cool but no idea what was done. I go to the site and am distracted with all the available colors. LOL

I have a 2024 Lariat PB with 1400 miles on it. Babied it to 1k miles and blew my passenger side turbo at 1200 miles. Dealer could not figure out why the turbo blew and stuck another one in. Passenger side turbo blew again at 1400 miles, and they are refusing to acknowledge the TSB and are waiting for another turbo to show up to just replace it again. I started the buyback process with Ford hoping to motivate the dealership to address the cause of the failure and not keep throwing turbos in it.

Why is this not an issue for a Platinum/King Ranch PB?

Some value engineer saved $.10 per part with their “improvement” to this price, and cost Ford countless thousands in turbo failures.

given fords lack of quality as of late, this is not surprising.

As my truck is still a tantalizingly close 60 miles away from the dealer, I had to find a video showing a KR powerboost engine, this screen grab seems to show the TSB mod already done at the factory for KR(and I assume Platinum) F150s

Why is it just PB with the problem? Is that top cover different on PB vs EB?
it’s also the 3.5 eco-boost models as well.
The King Ranch and platinum have the modified shroud with a larger cut out. All other models have the shroud with the smaller slits, these are the pre-TSB pieces.
