Does this also shove rain/water into the intake? I wish I didn't have to remove the whole front bumper....

You just cut out this part? I'll have to look at mine. I guess this part is flexible and can fold back and block airflow. Is that the problem?

Yup

Every time I look at the tiny little pipes I can't help but think of how restrictive they are. Anyone make a larger pipe with a proper stator to prevent the turbo causing a vortex and restricting / stalling the compressor?
I believe CVF is working on a set...

This may be a dumb question but can someone explain why this does not affect the non-power boost 3.5?
It probably is, it's just Ford hasn't admitted to it...yet

You noticed the little turbo intake pipe...but you didn't notice the nitrous kit?...?

Have to believe that Powerboost models with so much extra gear under the hood are going to have a higher frequency of heat related problems than the non powerboost models

And there we go from evidence based to emotional projection

I don’t think it’s a non standard 3.5 issue I just think Ford doesn’t move that many non PowerBoost 3.5’s as of now. My dealer said the 5.0 and PowerBoost make up most of the order pool these days. The 2.7 and 3.5 have steadily decreased in sales since circa 2018 according to their knowledge. V8 and hybrid have seen an uptick in sales.

and in a way yes that kind of makes sense. Anytime there’s more technology more parts more bits, and pieces. There is a higher propensity for problems. However, there are quite a few out there that would disagree with your thought process because there are quite a few PB trucks with zero issues.

yes, it’s a one side of the fence or other type deal. Talk with my dealer as well, they believe people either embrace the technology wholeheartedly or they are wanting to stay as far away from it as possible. This explains the power boost and 5.0 fans

Cleaner...
I had about 6,000 miles on stock plugs, and they looked good too...these NGK's are doing just as well..

Why isn’t this a problem on the 5.0 Coyote?

Why isn’t this a problem on the 5.0 Coyote?
Differing induction systems, the 5.0 V8 sucks in cold intake air under the hood and runs it straight through a wide 87 mm throttle body. The 3.5 EB compresses the intake air and sends it through a smaller 68 mm throttle body. The turbocharged engine utilizes an intercooler to cool the intake charge down.

Think of the 5.0 as sucking air through a big straw and the 3.5 blowing air through a smaller straw.
