The active members here make up maybe a days worth of sales with the bulk of new members coming to complain. Forums and social media in general aren't even a statistically relevant snapshot of the whole picture. I've got 15 months of trouble free time on the clock so far including nearly 2 hours straight of charging an EV at a sustained 7.56kW of output without the truck so much as flinching, on more than one occasion. Other members have days worth of sustained RV usage. I've yet to see another water cooled hybrid pure sinewave inverter on the market, let alone one anywhere close to being this quiet, self propelled, or with 30 gallons of fuel onboard.

Toyota serves excuses instead of technology. Their in-cab nicd battery is laughable. They need a few more years to get with the program.

I didn't say the Honda was smelly. I said the gas. The gas to run the Hondas had to be carried, Those cans smelled. I have gotten to the point in my life (75) that I don't need to be moving those generators around. Unless, at my age I should just stop RVing.

2021 Job 1. My transmission was replaced within the first 5000 miles, there was a bad batch of Job 1 Hybrid Drives.

After that, the truck has been trouble free. About to roll over 45000 miles.

Done generator mode camping for a week on the beach at Mustang Island. Truck did the whole thing powering small appliances 24/7. No issues. Have done week long camping trips multiple times while in gen mode.

Most days I drive it gently. Some days I want to punish it and it happily lets me. My monthly payment is how much therapy would cost me anyways. Plus you can’t tow a trailer with a therapist.

I can see how easily problems can happen on this platform, I plan to keep it for the duration of the extended warranty and report back. When I hit 99,995 miles I’ll consider trading it in for another one.

Gives me hope that my XLT PB that's currently on order won't present all the problems others are having on here. Despite my current 2.7 ecoboost being perfectly reliable I'm trudging on and trading into the PB. Time will tell but I'm optimistic

People who never have issues rarely shout it from the mountain tops.

People with problems (real or imagined) tell everyone they can.

It’s like that with everything. Always has been.

Just like product or company centric forums are usually home to a good number of people who hate said product/company.

Also any “new” tech always gets a lot of hate, founded or unfounded. Some legit, some from ignorant anti-fanboys

So true. I don't think most folks can really get their head around just how many F150's are built in a day.
It's really quite stunning.

Having had 3 Powerboost F150's myself, 2 for personal use and 1 used daily by employees, and none of the 3 ever touched by a dealership service department.....

I get to experience both perspectives. The perspective of the forum member and the statistical reality of how many of these trucks that are just fine with no warranty issues for the first couple of years to date.

I joined this forum to learn more about my amazing new truck! I'm a Powerboost enthusiast! There aren't many mountains in FLA but I do what I can. :)

This thread began because the OP
grubxor
Has a faulty fuel pump still under warranty. It's probably the exact same fuel pump the 3.5L Ecoboost models use.

The predictable hybrid reliability accusations start flying as a result.

CR uses a survey of dues paying members to produce it's reliability ratings which are dubious at best when assessing old technology vehicles.

On this forum alone I have seen problems and concerns brought up that were actually properly functioning systems the new owner just didn't understand.

"My Powerboost won't go very far in electric only mode. Something's wrong with it." "I'm trying to use the hybrid battery to run my RV, but the engine keeps turning on and I don't want it to, so I took it to the dealer and they can't find anything wrong."

All day. Everyday. Complaints like that get posted here and I understand why. This is brand new to many of us and we're trying to figure out how it works vs. how we thought it worked. This is the forum for that speaking from experience these past 6 months.

Have you actually used ProPower? Clearly not. It's superior to a portable generator in almost every way. It's not a gimmick. It's a breakthrough.
Indeed, comparing the PB to a generator fails to truly convey just how easy / convenient the system is. Even in its base form it's a 20a 120v wall socket everywhere the truck is. Simply putting the truck into run turns it on. It doesn't even need to start the ICE. I use a 6 gallon shopvac to vac the truck when needed and the only time I've had it start is if I left the HVB at a low charge level or I want the AC on high.

A 7kW + gen is a heavy ass inconvenience needing its own maint / fuel and if you don't need it for an extended period, that's a whole amount of work. It's simple enough that any animal with a 2 year old's cognitive ability could use it.
