4.2.4 Sync crashes and audio issues

Anybody experienced unusual screen or audio behavior since updating to 4.2.4? My F-150 is having periodic freeze ups and crashes of the center 12” screen, and audio glitches when the back up camera displays. They didn’t occur prior to the Power Up to. 4.2.4 I received on 6/9.

Quite a few people have had this issue since the 4.2.x updates. My truck has been this way for two months, so you better strap yourself in and hope 4.3.x fixes the issue and comes to you soon

Yes, I am definitely seeing it after the update. You can tell it's going south trying to load, eventually crashes/times out, then reboots itself. I actually have to use my mirrors alone (gasp!) because the backup camera is off during this whole mess. Really hoping this gets fixed as it is annoying.

Mines been doing it also since the new updates. Does it a lot when putting it in reverse. Sometimes it completely freezes up and have to reset it. During phone call I get no sound also

this last update, is AWFUL and very disappointing.

• when making a call, it starts out normal, then sync disconnects the phone. The call is still going on my phone, but NOT coming thru SYNC. i have to hang up and do it 1 or 2 more times before it works.
• I cannot connect to android auto once vehicle is in motion
• The clock display moved from top center of screen to top left of screen (for no apparent reason) which is now hidden behind my phone on its mount)?
• among other annoying issues

Ford... leave stuff ALONE, it was fine before!!! lol

I just got the notification on my sync screen today that 4.3.2 is scheduled to update tomorrow on my truck. Crossing my fingers that this will take care of the issue. We'll see. To be fair, I haven't researched what 4.3.2 addresses, so maybe nothing will change.

It's an IPC update to prep the truck for future updates. I doubt this will improve anything connectivity wise.

I've experienced the same. I'm on 4.3.3 now and I still have the issue. Occasional audio glitches using CarPlay, and Screen freezes when the cameras coming on. Usually just for a second or two, but sometimes it totally freezes and resets.

I’m having the same issue with the screen freezing, most often when the backup camera goes on. I sent you a message with my dealer name and VIN for my brand new Lariat. I really appreciate your assistance.

My screen freezes always when going in reverse after my latest update. The longer I drive, the longer it will stay frozen when going in reverse. If I drive 2 or more hours, forget about it, sync 4 crashes completely when going in reverse. I've found if you disconnect apple carplay before going in reverse it sometimes will not freeze/crash. Really hoping for an update SOON to fix this.

Yup, it’s definitely triggered by the camera being displayed. I can trigger it by going into reverse OR by hitting the camera button. Ford needs to fix this ASAP, it’s interfering with display of the back up camera, a mandatory safety feature, so NHTSA may ultimately get involved.

I may have found a solution to this issue. I disconnected carplay from the sync screen. Deleted my truck from my phone's bluetooth. Factory reset my sync 4. Re-added my phone and carplay (along with everything else I had to reset) and so far no more freezing when going in reverse. I took two, 2 hour trips yesterday without any issues.
