I am trying to figure out where my audio issues are coming from. I have a 22 Lariat with the B&O unleashed system. I used to have the dreaded explosion/static issues. A new auxiliary battery seemed to fix that.
During my 4.2.4 update, the truck had some audio weirdness. The volume knob wouldn’t respond, I got a loud pop, and I braced for the worst. No explosion sound but the audio system didn’t work after that. I stopped at a store and when I came out and started the truck, audio was back to normal. I already had a dealership appt for my Powerboost heat exchanger CEL, so I let them know what happened with the stereo. Dealer claims I had a bad amplifier and replaced it under warranty.
I immediately noticed audio issues after I picked it up. I get clicks, pops, and white noise all the time now. I thought maybe it needed the DSP update that Ford released. That didn’t fix it and now I randomly get glitches with the chimes during startup. Sometimes they come through the IPC, sometimes the stereo, sometimes no chimes at all. That appears to be normal after the DSP update, so I’m going to ask the dealer to revert it if they can.
I am now wondering if my audio issues are due to my software version. Is anyone else running 4.2.4 and CarPlay experiencing any audio quality issues? I’m using Spotify for my music and Pocket Casts for podcasts. The audio issues happen with both apps and I’ve also experienced them when I’m on a phone call. This happens with a USB or wireless connection.
This is driving me absolutely crazy. Am I the only one with these issues?

4.2.4 and regular CarPlay/Spotify user, no issues at all here - I do not have B&O however.

Just curious, do your audio issues with Carplay ever seem like all the audio is in the front of the truck? Almost like the gain is too high causing a distorted level of sound quality, lack of bass and rear speakers?

I haven’t noticed that. Putting it in surround mode vs stereo definitely shifts where the center point is.

I sometimes get weird audio issues as previously described while using Carplay but the issues go away completely when using Android Auto ?‍♂

I’m having these exact issues. Strange noises, crashes and chimes. I also noticed that the overall quality and volume is noticeably down from where it was. Any solutions yet ? Same software version, B&O system. I thought about trying to pull the 28 fuse and replace like some of the other forums mentioned for other amp issues, but not sure that’s it.

No solutions yet. I need to call the dealer and bring it back soon. I just couldn’t be without it most of the summer because I need my truck to pull my camper and we had several trips already booked.
