For the love of Jesus... it doesnt work.
As I approach my truck the doors auto unlock... so I 7\8 + 9\0 manually locked the truck... then coded the unlock then 5\6. Nothing... My gate is set to "Power" should it be set to Manual? That would make sense....
Gonna go try that now.

Nope changing to manual did not resolve... still doesnt work... So thanks to @Big Dog Daddy I will now be obsessing over something I have never used before and probably wont ever use, just cuz I know it doesnt work... thank Big Dog for the future nights loss of sleeps....

Wow, I'm really surprised, I don't know guys, I have a 2021 Lariat 501 w/o out power open/close tailgate, it has the damper only to assist on open. The "5" function has always worked since I've owned the truck. It's listed in the 2021 owner's manual. It worked on my 2018 as well.

Guy's is the function still shown in the owner's manual for the 2022 and 2023 trucks?

Maybe this feature doesn't work on the higher-level trucks with the power opening tailgate?
@Snakebitten do you have the feature on your 22?

Could this be something to do with the "unintentional tailgate opening" issue?

For opening the TG try pushing it twice. Post recall all of the tailgate operations require 2 presses.

Cannot find anything in my 2022 manual that looks like the above manual snippet.

Ok, here are the changes\tests Ive done with my 2022 Plat PB....
- Changed Power TG to Manual TG
- Code + 5\6
- Code + 5\6 + 5\6 (twice)
- Rolled up Tonneau cover

- Used keyfob to open and that works still....

None of my tests resulted in opening. Do the other trims have the "OPEN" option on the key fob? Maybe the +5\6 key pad is available on other trims, cuz the key fob "OPEN" option isnt on their key fobs?

Yes I have the opening fob, no I don't have to hit 5 twice but I do have to do that to the electric release button on the tailgate.
