Me personally.

I have a slide sledge in the garage I was lucky to purchase before they got dumb expensive.

That and about $75 in quality rattle can paint and it’ll be hard to tell anything ever happened.

Edit: Also check junk yards, may take some time, seems like many are looking for a pound of flesh for one part from a totaled vehicle, but I’d bet there’s a yard in your state with a truck matching your color that was totaled in a front end accident.

thats a dent in the bumper it took a good hit. is it a painted bumper? its hard to tell
but it could be dollied out and repainted if its paint.

See if either place has security cam footage. Unlikely but worth a try. Fixing it right (like new) will more than likely be more than your deductible. BTW, this should not affect your insurance rates since it was a hit and run. Insurance will probably require a police report. The same thing happened to me 4 or 5 years ago. Good luck.

I know your frustration. I always park in the part of the parking lots where nobody is around me, and I still have 2,500 in damage on my driver's side fender. I didn't turn it into insurance as they wanted a police report and a small kid riding his bike crashed into my truck.

Did it upset me, heck yeah. I went to a reputable Ford body shop and they did the work cheaper after I told them what happened.

Retracing my movements since I know it wasn't there this past weekend leaves like six different possibles. Damn. Now I think I'm going to get in the habit of: 1) parking in a more remote parking space 2) doing a walk around before I leave a lot. Still pisses me off that someone wouldn't own up to it.

As stated making it 100% right will not be cheap.

Personally I'd probably buy touch up paint and clean up the paint job leaving the dent. Then cuss about it every time I saw it for next six months before moving on.

To make it right, you find the security guy and hope they have footage that identifies who did it.

Then you go to your buddy that likes to do sketchy stuff... (everyone has one or knows one)

Just buy the bumper panel, it’s a super simple fix. I did it when mine got damaged. I replaced the whole rear bumper including plastics, sensors, and retainers for ~$700. You could buy just that side piece and have it painted.

Actually good point there.
Forgot bumper is two piece on these trucks.
Shop can paint and and just swap out at home when convenient.
