Transmission Diaper

I just noticed my truck didn’t come with a transmission diaper. Makes doing oil changes easier but should I contact the dealer to get one added? Did Ford remove them for the 2024’s? I can’t find anything about them removing them.

Is the transmission pan plastic? Seems like a rock could smash/crack the pan. Is your F150 FX4?

Ford did not put the diaper on the 2024. I had it on my 2013, and it was a pain to keep in in place as time passed.

If you want something to protect the transmission pan (and other areas underneath - including the cats), I would suggest looking at what Talons Garage has to offer. I put their aluminum transmission/cat shield on my 2024 PB and really like it. Even got good comments from my Ford dealer when they saw it. I believe they are having a Black Friday sale right now, as well.

Yes I own one already - picture of it installed. I have the anti-theft cat guards too.
Also pictured - removed access plate for oil change.

Would recommend this over the diaper, also protects the plastic trans pan.

Over time it would probably have fallen off anyway so I wouldn’t worry about it. My previous three Ram trucks all had a plastic transmission pan and no protective cover and I never had a problem with any of those either.

Welcome to Ford, you have a good looking truck. I am paranoid about the trans pan, as I hit a rock (in a car before F150) I think it hit the oil pan in high grass....

Thanks for the welcome, lol but I tend to switch back and forth between manufacturers every so many years. I came back to Ford three years ago because the 3.5 Ecoboost is so much more powerful than the 5.7 Hemi. Bought my first new F150 in 1992.

Mine had it. Its trash. And I do mean trash... Threw it away and installed RCI skid plates for $400. No drop in MPG and oil changes are easy.
