I have been a lurker on here for the last 2 months. I went from driving a 2020 Tacoma Off road 4x4 Access cab V6 manual to a 2024 F150 XL RCSB 2wd.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

I traded looking for newer tech, and more power. Sure did find both! Currently enjoying the 400 HP over the weak 3 gen Tacoma's V6. Towing is much improved. So is the ride even after putting on a Ridetech 3/5 drop kit. Really can see myself going back now. The Toyota seems like a toy truck compared to this truck now.

The day of trade...

I think I've made up my mind, much thanks to all the responses on here. Made me feel much better about my move to the F150. Not the most financially responsible one but, gotta enjoy the fruits of your labor occasionally. Going for the trade tomorrow, wish me luck.

My best friend has a 2013 tacoma double cab with 150k on it. All it has ever needed is general maintenance which is pretty nice. But I would never own one because to me it's a very cramped riding position, my knees always feel like they are pushed up. It's ok for short distance, but terrible for long distance. It's his wife's truck, she loves it and she thinks my truck is way too big, Screw, long bed, but I love the spacious feeling in my F150. Just my 2 cents.
Supposedly the new Generation of Tacomas fixes the awful seating position - that was my biggest complaint about my 2011. I have been curious to see one in person to see how much improvement there is.

Which powertrain are you going with on the f150?

Traded in my 21 TRD-OR this past June for a 24 XLT FX4 with a 3.5. EB and wish I’d done it sooner.
IMO the only thing the 3rd Gen Taco has going for it is reliability and resale value.
I’ll have to see about reliability on the F150 and I know it won’t hold it’s value like the Taco, but Ford is a nicer truck by far.

Drove early Toyota regular cab pickups, then Two Tacoma regular cabs.

The last, a 2004 had the 150 HP 2.7 and I had 165,000 trouble free miles. In 2016 I traded it in for a 2016 SCab 2.7 with 325 horsepower.
I loved that Tacoma, but I haven’t looked back.
I loved the Tacoma regular cabs. But I am learning to love my 24 RCSB.

Nice. I’m still debating between the 5.0 with 3.73 gears and the 3.5 with 3.55 gears. I just don’t know how I feel yet about the cylinder deactivation and the wet oil pump belt
I thought about getting the 3.5 PB because I think that powering your house is pretty cool and we lose power quite often, but I wanted to keep it simple. I have a decent generator anyway. Couldn't pass on that sweet sweet 5.0 rumble.

2021 XLT Screw 5.0,4x4,302Asport,
I've ridden in the last gen Taco, and have over 600k miles on Toyotas and Hondas. The last gen Taco has the most uncomfortable seating set up of any vehicle I've been in. New one is reportedly better.
Now, the new Taco is still work in progress. Just as with the Tundra, Toyota is discovering they built in issues. Typically Toyota will fix these. But give them three to four model years.

Don't get the F150 because you'll discover you love the space it provides, love the ride and seat comfort. and will refuse to give up those features.

I had a 22 Frontier before this current F150. I swore I'd never buy another Ford after my 18 F150 with its horrible transmission and my 15 Mustang with a driveline vibration they simply could not fix. But the 22 Frontier with their new 9sp was pretty bad too. My 23 F150 is OK but still not great shifting. The ZF 8sp in my Challengers is by far the best out there. Makes you wonder why Ford didn't simply license it from ZF. I think the previous gen Frontiers are every bit as durable as the Tacomas but they don't get the respect they deserve.

You won’t regret the 5.0 V8, it will get significantly better fuel economy than your Tacoma and have gobs more power on tap. Different worlds. Wish you luck with the new rig!

Had a 2011 Tacoma, loved it. Traded it in for a 2019 Tacoma, and wished that I had kept the 2011 over the 2019. Now, I have a 2023 Supercab XLT FX4 with the 5.0L Coyote...and absolutely love it! Tows great, the different driving modes, the 36gal tank... Even my wife likes it.

Just gave up my 2023 Tacoma off road long bed.
Towing a 25ft travel trailer.
I really liked the Tacoma, my wife said never again.
Ordered the powerboost 6.5 bed, max tow.
Had to stop and look, to see if the trailer was still there towed the trailer, no problem in hills of PA.
Awesome truck
