I would like to know
Why days before an update the IPC gauges reset to default position
Eng temp oil, trans fuel
Mine is user set
Eng temp trans, boost , fuel
Then days later after an ota it will randomly reset again. And in my view screen will default to the standard 4 screens vice the 7 I had selected

There is hope
I was just watching an interview with a ford performance engineer for the explorer ST. He is a true gear head
He could hardly contain his enthusiasm

Specifically all the updates for updated Bluecruise. Keep in mind 2024 likely have different hardware so they will get updates on different schedule.

Wonder if they've reduced the number of times the screen freezes up upon start up. Several times a week my Sync4 freezes on the Ford logo requiring me to reboot it.
Same here. I'd say for me it a few times a month.

FDRS can get you the improved software that has better lane centering. The extra features like lane changes are not there yet.

No issues with the update on mine, I allowed it to go through as I’ve had a few phantom window issues

What issues have you been having?

My front windows, usually the passenger, likes to unlearn the auto up feature....rolls all the way up and then "bounces" back down. Necessitating me to gently nurse it up a little at a time so as to not create another bounce back, then when all the way up, I can reset the switch (with the two second holds). It will then work fine, for maybe a day or two or three and then repeat. How Ford can eff up an auto window feature that is what....30 year old tech, is beyond me. Hopefully, this next update will correct it...I got the notice that my update is supposed to happen at 1am tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I've never experienced any change to the my view screen and settings prior to an update, but every time after an update has successfully installed the IPC is defaulted to my view and only has the default items displayed. I end up resetting the my view screen post OTA every time.
If you ever see the screen pop up on the center screen that says "saving F-150" it's at this moment that the truck is uploading all of the as built and software rev. level details. This usually happens 2 to 3 ignition cycles after a successful OTA install.
Same. That's when I know an update has been received and went through......my Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) will default to My View, and my personal My View settings are gone.

I like to rock only 3 views...Calm, Trip 1, and Tire Pressures.

CRAZY…..mine has been doing the EXACT same thing….took my hammer and it is now fixed with constant air flow to boot ? kidding aside, I will continue to monitor to see how it behaves…..all this time I was thinking the truck thought I needed more airflow in the cabin, always happens when I am drivinthetruck

Update went through this AM as scheduled, ....My View was back to default settings and my passenger window auto up worked twice. Still a big TBD if the window will keep working more than 1 day.

I noticed yesterday morning when I 1st started up and headed on my 87 mike trip
The screen while driving gave me a few..features are disable for safety thing message
And my view in IPC was not where I left it.
Then about ten miles to my destination at a stop light, I had the message come up a update was going to happen as scheduled
So when I got to my destination.
I changed my update time to about 20 minutes in future.
I figured it would not happen
So I was surprised it had when I returned
My brain is thinking it had already downloaded, but was waiting till 3 pm
My scheduled times. Because where I was at.. cell coverage is sparse.

It’s pretty interesting how vehicles today are getting smarter thanks to https://www.cogniteq.com/internet-things — the way over-the-air updates, connectivity, and real-time monitoring work together shows how much the Internet of Things is shaping modern automotive technology. Cell coverage can still be an issue in rural areas, but it’s impressive how seamlessly these systems handle updates even under less-than-ideal conditions.
That definitely sounds like what happened — the system likely downloaded the update earlier when it had a stable connection, then just waited until your scheduled time to install it. When coverage is weak, it usually caches the update until it can apply it automatically.

It’s pretty common for vehicles with over-the-air updates to behave this way. The “features disabled for safety” message usually just means certain functions are temporarily unavailable during system checks or updates.

If it happens again, it might help to manually check your update history in the settings — it should show exactly when the update was downloaded and installed.
