Software update

The software update is set in my new truck. But the Ford app does not show it, it gives instructions how to set it up. Any idea how to get it to show on the Ford app?

More importantly, how do you know what version of software that the truck is updated? I asked the dealer but he did not know.

21s are OLD now so you must wait in the que ?? like sync 3 even though sync 3 is still in 204 model vehicles

KIDDING i have no idea, but i bet 21s will be soon
my BMS was updated last time they changed my battery under warranty and i am in the EARLY crew thing with ford, what ever that means

It used to provide that information until they changed the App.

I got this one that popped up today.....

Wonder if they've reduced the number of times the screen freezes up upon start up. Several times a week my Sync4 freezes on the Ford logo requiring me to reboot it.

To try to answer your question:
Because of the haphazard way that Ford software is developed/distributed, there really is no single “version” for your truck.
These trucks are a collection of individual modules loosely linked together via a couple of internal networks. In general, modules are updated individually and therefore each has a more-or-less unique revision number.
Worse, on at least one occasion, Ford released multiple updates for the same module without bumping the revision number.

I noticed yesterday morning when I 1st started up and headed on my 87 mike trip
The screen while driving gave me a few..features are disable for safety thing message
And my view in IPC was not where I left it.
Then about ten miles to my destination at a stop light, I had the message come up a update was going to happen as scheduled
So when I got to my destination.
I changed my update time to about 20 minutes in future.
I figured it would not happen
So I was surprised it had when I returned
My brain is thinking it had already downloaded, but was waiting till 3 pm
My scheduled times. Because where I was at.. cell coverage is sparse.

Thanks for the answer. I was expecting that Ford would have numbers like an IOS update and there would be a site where an owner could go and see if everything was current and up-to-date. My mistake.
