Ahem, not everyone Is getting updates. Last one on my truck was September 19, 2023, and I don‘t expect to get this one either. But , on the good , the truck has been great other than a couple of recalls that were handled well by the Dealer.
I can agree completely with you on this. Yes these trucks are really great, I told my wife the other day the two best parts of my workday are driving to work and home from work!
As for Ford's handling of updates it's been very disappointing to say the least, I feel for the guy's like you that aren't getting updates on a regular basis. It's been 4 years now since they introduced the OTA system, and it's a dam shame that they haven't figured out how to quickly update these trucks. If cellular companies worked like this we'd all still be using flip- phones.

I would like to know
Why days before an update the IPC gauges reset to default position
Eng temp oil, trans fuel
Mine is user set
Eng temp trans, boost , fuel
Then days later after an ota it will randomly reset again. And in my view screen will default to the standard 4 screens vice the 7 I had selected

I've never experienced any change to the my view screen and settings prior to an update, but every time after an update has successfully installed the IPC is defaulted to my view and only has the default items displayed. I end up resetting the my view screen post OTA every time.
If you ever see the screen pop up on the center screen that says "saving F-150" it's at this moment that the truck is uploading all of the as built and software rev. level details. This usually happens 2 to 3 ignition cycles after a successful OTA install.

Same with FDRS updates. It seems to be power (not necessarily battery) related. Whenever the IPC is "turned off" during an update, customisations disappear. This "turn off" happened to me on multiple module updates. Certainly though, every time the IPC goes "blank" during an update, it reverts to default.

It has also happened to me (rarely) on normal KOEO before driving off; that may be low voltage related or some internal/external signal in/received by the IPC ?‍♂

Thanks
It drives me nuts, setting my screen ..only to have it revert a few times.
But the pre-something is changing before update..happens consistently, as of it tried but failed to update.
I am beginning to think that is the case.
My truck is parked in a weak cell area, under a metal carport. If backed in, I can't get cell, but fwd in I can get cell but it's sketchy in staying connected.
The IPC misbehaves and then in the next update time available cycle it will update.
Except when. Battery condition stopped updates
Learn new stuff all the time here

You are not alone with IPC being a bit crazy.

The reset after every OTA is typical. Twice now at completely random times it has reset the settings with no OTA or FDRS involvement. I'm still not sure how that was triggered. For me that means speedometer goes back to KPH on my Canadian import too. Easy to see when it happens since I lose the boost gauge. I have drove all the way to interstate and wonder why I'm going 100 with traffic. ?

2 things to try if not already:
1. Sync>Settings>General>Default Units and
2. FORScan mods, IPC easy method:
Display Temperature Default UnitFahrenheit
Display Unit Selection FunctionImperial
I had to change them to °C and Metric ?

I have lost count of how many times I have rebuilt MyView

And often there is no evidence of why it was necessary. I chalk it up to one of those quirks that come with this product. Most vehicles I own have their own.

No issues with the update on mine, I allowed it to go through as I’ve had a few phantom window issues
Whew. I was worried about the V8s struggling to get up to speed. ?

Yes, but those do nothing with speed. My temperature is always fahrenheit as I believe it follows setting from APIM? ?‍♂
I could change the country code with Forscan. It would forget it was ever a Canadian truck, but I'm too lazy. I have 3 minor things to change with steering wheel buttons every six months when I get an update. I'd be more annoyed if I couldn't change it while driving.

Issues with the updates late last year across models put them on hold. Specifically all the updates for updated Bluecruise. That is only significant update all year. There have been a few minor bug fixes flowing out for minor modules. Doors, seats, HVAC. The fix for broken middle trim audio has been going out recently as well. Keep in mind 2024 likely have different hardware so they will get updates on different schedule.

In my case, I'm up to 1,136 times resetting MyView.
