‘24 Lariat PB. The wireless charger is crap. Can’t believe that’s a ~$400 option. Hard to get a connection and remain charging. It has to be seated just right and have to apply downward pressure. And it’s a slow charger so can barely keep up if Maps and Spotify are running - it still uses more than it receives. I understand the phone cubby design if you were running full voice command. I barely use it. Annoying the USBs below HVAC prompt about data or data transfer when connected. Happy with USB-C in arm rest. Get good cables, I’ve been happy with Anker.
You’ve not seen anything online to get this to work better? I was thinking it’s my phone case but now I’m thinking it’s shitty design and a weak magnet.

I have a 2024 XLT and an iPhone 16 Pro. I use CarPlay via Bluetooth. Usually have Apple Maps and Pandora running. Phone discharges somewhat quickly and gets very warm doing that. The USB-C port under the big screen will at least keep the phone from discharging more and does charge it up if I drive long enough (over an hour). All that is good enough for me.

None of the USB ports in the truck are "fast" chargers, hence why I use a good 12V charger in the 12V socket.
The USB-C inside the console storage (under the arm rest) and the ones on the back of the center console for the rear passengers are 15W and that’s pretty decent for my needs. Triggers lock screen approved fast charging on my Androids and my iPhones equally charge up rapidly from them. I can even use 15W wireless charging through it with my phone mount, measured with a Klein meter. I mean it's not PD level but I have zero complaints. If you've ever seen them they are effectively a 12V socket adapter and charger internally. The ones for media (under screen in cubby) are still using USB Mini for its connector. I've looked into getting a power splitter to add real power behind it while continuing to offer data passthrough.

Incorrect. My S24 android phone says the USB-C port in the console and the ones facing the back seat are all fast charging.

retired!
Plugging C-to-C into the charge-only port is about the same as the standard Apple 120VAC 'cube' charger' for my iPhone 16.

Works for me. (y):)

Same. But there is a caveat. There are different definitions of fast charging depending on manufacturer.

Here is some real data:

IPhone 16 pro connected directly to 120v outlet with 70w capable block

[email protected] = 16.5W

Phone 16 pro connected to front console, middle console, back seat USB C

5v@2a = 10w

Ford F-150 Slow Phone Charging IMG_0093

iPhone 16 pro Connected to 120v outlet via Treepod (limiting factor here is the need to use the lightning to usb c adapter to make it work. If I had a newer android phone it would charge as faster if capable)

9v@2a = 18w

Now for comparison here is the same test using my NOCO GBX75 jump starter. Only did console this time where center console and back seat are the same.

NOCO connected to 120v outlet with 70w block

20v@3a = 60w

NOCO connected to console USB C directly

5v@2a = 10w

NOCO connected to 120v outlet via treepod (no lightning adapter)

15v@3a = 45w

My truck is a 21. The best you are getting out of the built in USB C ports is 5w@2a = 10w no matter what is connected unless something unknown to me has changed in the last model years or two.

My 23 A+C power points were 15W for C and I did pretty much immediately switch them out for the 24+ C+C which both C ports measured 15W. 10W may have been a limitation of the 21 MY trucks. I know midway they also did a change to the wireless charger so that may have been the same changeover time to 15W C ports

Any chance you ever captured a reading showing real world 15w charging on your 23? It would be the first I’ve see or heard of it. I do know the wireless charger changed around that time with the fan being added.

Or maybe my vehicle is 3 years newer?
"Maybe" your vehicle is 3 years newer, or is it 3 years newer?
Nevertheless it does not make my statement 'incorrect'.
Also, the OP's vehicle is 4 years newer, yet he is facing the same problems that I do, which is none of the USB ports fast-charging his phone. So 'maybe' the MY has nothing to do with it.

OP was asking about the USB-C port in the little cubby which is not fast charging. He said he was going to try the console port but has gone AWOL. You seem strangely rude and angry about this for some reason.

All I know is my 2024 XLT fast charges through the ports I mentioned.
