Its currently a $1900 option... And then there is a $1900 PB discount. So after I did the math I calculated It doesn't cost you a penny more to choose a PB over the EB. I triple checked my work... My work is shown below.

$1900 - $1900 = $0.
Right now it's a $300 option but includes the mobile office pack and 2.4kW inverter whereas the 3.5 includes the tow haul package. The PB only needs the TBC to be added as it already contains everything from the tow package standard.

Wow! So my PB starts out much better than an EB and after 10 years it eventually costs the same too! The best half ton truck ever made just keeps getting better and better!

note* In 2022 they did cost more. At least mine did at the time.

2022 here too.
A 2021 for a year before the special order 2022 arrived.

Whatever they cost over the Ecoboost, was a bargain. But I admit that is probably because I value everything that little 1.5KWH battery brought to the table over the Ecoboost. (I had just traded my 2018 KingRanch Ecoboost in after just short of 4 years with it)

All 3 F150's above were/are fabulous trucks. And so was the 2026 2.7 Ecoboost prior. And I still have my 2012 XLT "work truck" for gettin dirty and hauling stuff around.

Statistically, I've probably had better luck than most. I know that. But should I complain? ?

This 2022 KingRanch Powerboost raised the bar on luxury and utility. I don't know how long I will keep it, but I do know it will take someone building a truck that exceeds it. I'm not intending to go backwards or looking for simplicity. Simplicity is history anyways.

Simplicity may be history sometimes, but it's good engineering sometimes too. I'm not knocking your choices in vehicles, but there surely are times when simple pays dividends vs the latest and greatest when that has failed for some reason and can't be gotten functional in the field. To me, some of both (simple some places and new/complex in others) is ideal.

I was simply pointing out that simplicity isn't being manufactured anymore. Modern vehicles are loaded with software and connectivity, regardless of their entry level trim offerings.

Not choosing the 10-way adjustable seating and a moonroof and 14 speakers with a 12" centerstack display, doesn't mean you purchased a simple and reliable vehicle.

Lol

OK. If you say so.
I mean you could be right, but you couldn't possibly know that for sure.

Same stuff pops up about EV's.
What are you going to do when you need to replace the battery in your Mach-E in 8 years?

I don't put a lot of effort into debunking, since I get the feeling it would be a waste of time.

That is very true. I was comparing to keeping some older stuff around, which now that I think of it this discussion really isn't about.

Smoke and mirrors. The fact that it is valued as a $1900 option, the discount means you could have gotten the standard engine for the manufacturer's cost of the PB option less. They don't GIVE you anything.

This was not the case for me. I had ordered a Lariat EcoBoost then changed to a PowerBoost just before it went into production. Because of the MY24 PB Incentive of $1900 off, the PB was less expensive, so I added the 7.2 generator capability. The extended service plan wasn't any more expensive because I had the hybrid, so I saved money right from the start. I love the truck. Put 4500 miles on it in 30 days and my only problem has been a rock into the windshield. Power and gas mileage have been great.
What kind of mpg are you getting? thanks

My best 100 mile trip was 26mpg, my best hour long trip was 36mpg. My average is 23mpg. Best truck ever. It’s also faster than my buddy’s raptor so that doesn’t hurt my feelings either.

The added power isn't just fun when you need it. The additional torque is available all the time and provides a much smoother power delivery compared to the EB. It has effortless power more like a diesel. Combine that with superior fuel economy, unsurpassed idling capability, and model leading performance. My 2022 302A 7.2kW XLT is the bees knees.
What are your mpg? thanks
