Damn!

This thread is disheartening!! I have a Line-X appt next week 1/25- I scheduled before reading this thread. Now I'm thinking of holding off as I don't want to hassle at dealerships and what not. I have a bed cover + bed mat, but have got some nicks-n-nacks in a few spots on the side and thus wanted to go with the liner. $500 + tax for the standard.

I think I might hold off as it seems this issue is very much still prevalent with no apparent solution that doesn't result in a hassle at a dealership.

An update to my issue that I had. The dealer found that my harness was loose to the IPMI module and that was causing all of my issues. It’s been a few weeks since it was reconnected properly and I haven’t had any more issues with warning lights which I’m thankful for. Dealer thinks it wasn’t connected properly at the factory. I asked if the harness wires may have had no slack and maybe it pulled loose but he wasn’t the tech and couldn’t answer that.
Where is the IPMI module located? I'd like to check mine and see if that fixes it so i don't have to take it in.

Thank you,

Bryan

The IPMI is located “On the windshield, below the interior rear view mirror.” According to the Ford crash website

https://fordcrashparts.com/wp-conte...driver-assistance-systems-ADAS-Job-Aid-D6.pdf

Unrelated: Looking at what the Active Park Assist feature uses module-wise and I think my XLT has all of them. I wonder if that can be cracked.:geek:

Update on mine. The dealer last Friday finally got the IPMA module replaced and programed correctly and the error codes are gone. It took 5 visits to get here, The initial visit to diagnose and try the TSB, then two more visits where they discovered that they were trying to install the wrong module, one more visit where they ordered the correct IPMA module, but couldn't get it programmed (programming actually broke other items) and then finally where the new module took the programming and didn't brake anything else. So all in all about 5 months. Only good thing out of it is Ford refunded me 2 months of truck payments.

I have been told by my local dealer (after refusing to do the tsb 21-2249 due to the failure rate) that there will be an "over the air" update pushed out in June to fix the issue and to just deal with it until then. Anyone else hear this?

Hi Chris. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd like to see how I can assist you on my end.

Fingers crossed. I’ve had the issue since I bought the truck because I had dealership put on spray-in bed liner before I even picked it up.

sorry for the late post, after 3 days, the dealer was able to update the software. no more error messages. they had to reach out to a Ford Engineer to accomplish the task.

TSB 22-2109 covers this issue. With that said, has anyone had this TSB performed? If so how long did it take? I scheduled a half day with my dealer to get this done and the technician refused to start the work because he said it’s an eight hour job despite the TSB saying it’s no more than three hours.

Just a note to those that have it, it also appears to happen if you remove one of the doors. The dealer had to repaint my 2 driver side doors to fix a scratch we found before buying. Since getting it back I've had this issue. I'm waiting on taking it back until I get my Line-x installed. No point in going and having it done twice. The dealer was aware of the issue and are just waiting to hear back if it "cleared itself up" or not.

UGA did the dealer do the TSB recalibration described in this thread or something else? I'm going in today to talk to them about mine. Thanks
