FDRS is some 2020 and later. IDS was used before that. I know Ford Motorcraft sells licenses for IDS just like FDRS. I'm not sure if average Joe can use it without additional licensing requirements.

Help. Friend leaving TOMORROW for Yellowstone pulling his travel tailer with 23 F150 Platinum. Yesterday he saw my "trailer side view" working and wants that on his. I am doing a Forscan session today but in planning it I realized the 12/23 IPMA update is required on his truck....

Does 1FTFW1ED3PFA05615 have that level of SW or do I need to get a license and work in a FDRS session as well?

Would someone check my vin 1FTFW1E84MFC80697. I am curious what updates are shown. I completed an FDRS update the last of June. Two days later I received an OTA update failure that I thought was loaded during the FDRS update process. This failed update notice is still active on the software update screen.

This is a 2019, so not a connected vehicle. He can check to see if he has any updates he can do himself with a USB directly on the Ford webstie.

Can I get my vin checked. Brought it to the dealer Friday they said it was updated but I still have the grayed out auto update and no sync version in the software.

Post a pic of your "about sync" screen. PTS shows you're on Sync 23159. Do you know if they replaced the APIM or just updated it? It seems like they were able to update it without replacing it. Does your BC work now? If not, what does it say for BC under "connected services" in your Fordpass app?

Deciding if I want to go to the dealer (in warranty) or just get the Mongoose, or ignore it. Can you check my VIN again? Thanks.

I doubt the dealer would help. OTA history shows you've recently gotten some of the 4.x.x updates, so you're a bit behind. Modules pending updates are below. If you have the disposable income, you can go the Mongoose route if you want to get up to date. It will take the OTA process a good while to get you there. Unless there is something specific you want from an update you're missing that you can't live without, you can wait it out.

There are two different OTA's for the 8 and 18 speaker set ups. In your case, there is a DSP update pending.

You're on Sync 23159 which is one version behind the latest. Modules pending updates are below. Not sure what you mean by tip the helpers, but there is nothing you can do to speed up the OTA process.

This truck is a 2023, so it should have the right IPMA software. It's on ABJ,. but I don't remember if that's the correct one or not. Worse case scenario, just do the FORScan changes. The worse that will happen is that it won't work.

Only showing BCM, BCMC and TRM updates pending. FDRS and OTA servers are not directly linked. The update failed because you had already done it. Now that you got an DSP update yesterday, that failed OTA message should be gone and replaced with that one.

Thank you for the update. I think i am having battery issues again. Every night it is telling me that an update is pending and I wake up in the morning and everything is reset like the battery died. Sadly I cannot put it on a charge due to where I live

You can ignore that. It's a phantom update message. Nothing has been sent to you since July. SoC being reported to the cloud is 84%....battery seems fine.
