Pretty much everything on your truck has an update available. No you need to take it to the dealer unless you want to spend ~$800 for 12hrs of updates. Borrow a mongoose from ruged's thread in his sig

Just take another lump out of your pillow, besides you will sleep better.

You just have to make sure the two wee holes line up so the juice flows. Easy pesy...LOL

I'll just take it to my local dealer and see if they can get it patched up.

They will either refuse or you'll be paying dealer labor which of course varies. They would also need the truck an entire week to fully update it during business hours. They will probably try to be sneaky and only update it partially if you do try getting them to do it. It is happened to many people.
Get a quote first, if it is over $600, buy the Mongoose, or borrow one.

I'll just take it to my local dealer and see if they can get it patched up.

What I did was tell them I had problems with my phone connecting. I believe it’s part of an SSM or TSB. My dealer did all the updates then. Well almost all.You could at least have Sync system up to date. Hopefully your local dealer is a good one

If your truck is Bluecruise equipped you can try that approach to get updates too. Not as likely to work on used but anything is possible. There is a TSB to update BC trucks that are stuck behind updates and can't use the feature.
