2023 Tremor mid, with 360 cameras, added the sensor and then made the changes with Forscan as per OP,

No other changes, and now appears to be working. The intermittent is now rain sensing when rain sensing is enabled from the settings menu.
Will have to wait for some real rain to fully test, but looks good with a spray bottle of water.

I recently added the rain sensor to the cavity in the windshield up behind the rear view mirror. I checked voltage on the harness plug for the sensor prior to purchase and confirmed there was power to the plug. I have a 2022 XLT 302A with 360 cameras. After installation, I made the below FORscan changes. I DID NOT update my wiper stalk. After this, the wipers are now rain sensing and adjust speed based on rain intensity (tested with a hose), as long as the stalk is not in the wiper off position. Don’t forget to turn on rain sensing wipers in the Vehicle Settings menu, Settings->Vehicle->Wipers->toggle on “Rain Sensing”. Figured I would share in case others want to do this rather inexpensive simple modification (~$40). Picture attached of the sensor installed and I also circled in red where the harness was initially plugged in at the dummy spot. You can pull down the plastic cover behind the mirror to see this, it’s easiest if you start at the edge that meets the windshield.

Enjoy!

@TJSparky, I popped off the cover above the rear view mirror and saw that I have the three-pin connector with the green/white, black/white, and blue/white wires tucked into a holder (see photo). Does this in some way imply that my 2022 Lariat is wired for the rain sensor? If so, do I need to replace the stalk switch or as you suggested, just keep the existing and change the necessary values in Forscan? I've seen several somewhat uncertain comments throughout this thread. But, I do appreciate everyone's input. It's what keeps my reading skills alive ?

I would try installing the sensor and making the forscan changes first. You may also need to purchase the stalk and an additional harness as well if that does not work. I only needed the sensor and forscan changes for my '23 302A.

It depends. All models appear to have the plug. However, all don’t have power going to it. You have a lariat so it probably has power going to the plug. On some of the ‘21 XLT lower trim models it doesn’t appear to have power going to the plug.

I believe if you turn the wiper to the first delay setting and put a multimeter to the plug you can see if you have power for the sensor.

Sounds like a plan. If there is voltage present at the connector, I'll run by my local Ford parts department and pickup the sensor. I just successfully finished upgrading to 360 co-pilot assist and love it. Slowly, I'm adding all the stuff that got left out of MY22s due to supply chain issues.

If you have power to the harness and they still don't work in the intermittent positions after you make the forscan chances and turn on the automatic wipers in the settings, you will likely just need a new stalk which is inexpensive and easy to install.

After probing and finding no power at the connector, I checked and the 5 amp fuse is present. My MY22 Lariat was manufactured on Feb. 2, 2022 making it fall into the “early” group. So I’ve ordered the Infotainment kit since I was going to replace the stalk anyway. Plus, I got a 10% military veteran discount which softened it a bit. I, like everyone else, would like to spend as little as possible to get these upgrades, but looking at the larger picture, I would have spent way more to get these features since I’d have to buy a higher cost trim level to get them. After I get the hardware installed, I’m sure I’ll be back on this thread asking more FORScan questions.

Do u have 360 camera? Believe the xlts that had power to the harness had the 360 cameras

COVID changed many things… most notably, the supply chain. My 22 Lariat was unfortunately caught up in that turmoil and as a result, many options were either axed or abbreviated in some way. I’ve read in many forum threads about what various trim levels should have had, but when they rolled off the production line, all bets were off. No, unfortunately, mine did not come with 360 camera. I have added bed lights and adaptive cruise control thus far and soon rain sensing wipers.

After adding ambient lighting ,I finally got around to looking at adding rain sensing option. I was surprised to find that I don't have power to the sensor plug. June 2022 xlt 302a build with 360 cameras but is a cdn truck. I do have the 5 amp fuse. Will need to look at adding via Jessie's full kit.

Loving this truck but I am so mad at myself (and dealer as asked about any other options I should add) for not adding 360 copilot assist. Would have added a lot of options to my xlt - as I was going to use it for towing I was way too focused on payload and needed 4 wheel drive so I dropped a lot of options. Got 1850lb payload but could have easily given up the ~10 lbs to get rain sensing , front sensors, lane centering, adaptive cruise and connected nav (I use Android Auto so didn't realize all I was giving up) in the assist package. Yeah I know people have added it afterwards and I have done forscan but I am not at that level to take that on. Wouldn't care as much but love the truck and plan on keeping it while as long as I have the trailer (bought Granger's 8 yr warranty thanks to this forum. My first extended warranty.).

Since my MY22 Lariat did not have the necessary wiring from the rain sensor location to the stalk, I chose to go the Infotainment kit route complete with sensor, harness, and stalk. My kit showed up today and it only took about a half hour or so to install it. Installation was pretty much spot on with the Infotainment YouTube installation video.

I know it's been covered previously in this thread in various places, but for the ForScan programming, I used the easy programming method rather than the as-built method because it just seems to make more sense. There were 3 modules that needed changes in order to make it work. It's easy to find the features by simply filtering on the key words "rain" and "wipe". The changes were:

APIM - Rain Sensing Wipe - Enabled

IPC - Rain Sensor - Enabled

SCCM - Rain Sensor - Enabled and Smart Front Wiper - Enabled

After making all changes, I cleared any DTCs and rescanned and found none. There will be an additional setting under Settings->Vehicle->Wipers - Rain Sensing

Just check your headlight functions to confirm everything is working properly. When I enabled the rain light sensor, it screwed up my headlight functions.
