Does rain affect the lane keeping feature? Driving in rain Yesterday I noticed it wouldn’t always recognize the lanes (the bars wouldn’t turn green in the graphic) and sometimes the steering wheel wouldn’t vibrate when I purposely drifted out of lane. Is this due to rain and wipers?

I would think it is because the camera loosing sight of the lines on the road. Rain on the window or water, dirt, being dark out, covering the lines

That’s what I’m thinking too. Today it’s not raining and I’ll test it again to see.

If the camera vision is impaired sufficiently, you should receive an instrument cluster warning that the feature is disabled, or even a request to clean the camera lens.

I've seen both momentarily.

I've had no issues running with adaptive cruise in the rain if the road has well marked lanes. Older lines it would get confused just as it does in dry weather. No biggie, I don't expect truck to drive for me even if I had BC.

I thought adaptive cruise uses radar, not the mirror camera. No?

I've observed that even glare on dry pavement will cause LKA to temporarily drop out - lots of situations seem to affect the camera's ability to discern contrast between lines and pavement which appears (understandably) critical to functionality.

I turned mine off for good during a road trip last summer. Didn’t enjoy ping ponging AT ALL while along Montana riverside 2-lane roads at highway speeds.

Absolutely. I have noticed that the camera is blinded/fooled similar to my own 50 some year-old eyes. i.e. a sheet of rain on blacktop getting hit by sun may cause enough glare that like me the camera is not sure where the lines are. Low sun directly in front saturates my eyes and the camera. You should see a warning light and maybe a message in the latter situation.

Lane keeping/Centering camera has its limits looking through water.
what bruce said
yes its asking the system to do even more and the harder the rain the harder it is to see the lines.

LANE marking imo is also a HUGE detriment to lane centering .
