When driving on the interstate I noticed that the lane assist would temporarily disengage when passing an on-ramp when there was no white line where the oncoming cars merge and then re-engages when the line starts again. Is this an option that can be turned off? The chime rings when it stops and then again when it starts back.

There isn't a setting to change that. The system needs two lines to operate, when it loses a line on either side for more than a couple seconds it will deactivate. That's the same reason it won't work on roads with just a centerline.

With all the new driving systems coming out the states need to change how they are designing their lane markings. Adding dotted lines at all exit and entrance ramps should be required. I see them in many places now but not everywhere.

Sounds like you are using blue cruise. For Bluecruise the roads are digitized and there are area's that are not covered by the maps, the system will disengage. You can check the coverage map and see where the gaps are on the roads you are traveling.

No, lane assist is not a blue cruise only feature. The Ford Copilot 360 does lane assist (just not hands free).

I have an EV (non Ford) with Lane Centering and it's even more unforgiving of gaps in road markings.
As stated above, there's a disconnect between the technology the industry is equipping our products with and the transportation department's standards for road marking?

When I snagged it, for a song and dance, I certainly didn't expect it to have a legitimate driver's assist package of Adaptive Cruise/Lane Centering.
Pleasantly surprised at how well it functions.

The Adaptive Cruise is every bit as good as my Powerboost. Perhaps a little less likely to be confused, honestly.
The Lane Centering would be comparable too except it requires better/definitive road markings than the Powerboost does. And it's "Keep Hands On Wheel" alert is a big Angry Red, while also a few seconds less patient than the Ford.
