Priority update - Audio 23-PU1024-6CHAUD-Now low volume, poor audio quality, no bass response

Has anyone heard when this will be resolved. I’ve called the dealer. Nothing they can do. Thinking about using my warranty and making them replace the whole system and charge ford.

It is not known when the fix will be rolled out. No one has reported getting it yet.

Had another update today. Details are nothing for audio but maybe thought they threw an audio fix in there. Shoulda known better. Still shit audio…

My truck was at the dealership today for other issues but while I was there I asked if they had been getting any complaints about the radio and the girl instantly knew what I was talking about.

She said something about an APM or something abbreviated like that, and that Ford was aware but has no fix at the moment.

I called Ford yesterday about it and they said that never heard of an issue like that and that I would have to pay to have it diagnosed at a dealership before they could do anything... smfh

I called Ford Customer Care on Tuesday and spoke with Maria who walked me through the module reset process which involved getting in the truck and holding the volume and seek buttons, cycling the ignition, etc. etc. But it didn't fix anything. She said they were aware of the number of complaints regarding this issue and the only likely solution was another OTA update. She didn't have any information regarding a timeframe as to when that might happen. It just sucks that I can probably get better sound from setting my cell phone on the dash and playing the music through the phone's anemic speaker vs the 'upgraded B&O' system.

I called Ford Customer Care and added my name and VIN to the coffer of people who have already complained. The lady was aware and said they are expecting a fix soon. I take that with a grain of salt. I asked if they actually test these things in a UAT environment before pushing to production and she said they likely test but dont know how it will affect users until they push and get calls. Seems to me, if you have full access to every piece of hardware in your vehicles and every software update that can run on said hardware, then you should be able to test any number of scenarios that would be found in production, prior to release. This was supposed to reduce background noise to the remote party on a phone call. It DID do that, so well that they cannot hear me either! Why it affected ALL audio on my end too, we may never know.

While on the phone I added a few more complaints I have had with this system like
1. Phone ringer volume 600dB louder than talking volume
2. Individual volume controls for phone audio, ringer, audio(music), prompts (in CarPlay apps like Waze), etc. that can be adjusted in the menus rather than ONLY when an active prompt or call is playing
3. Resetting the dashboard MY VIEW to default EVERY time an update comes through (this is really aggravating)

This update is not reflecting in fords servers. SO meaning after the update and the interrogator runs it dos not update the version of the DSP in fords server.. it still shows the old version you were on.

I think the issue for the people that got the Update is due to the way the update was applied.

I got the OTA and have no issue. I believe that to be due to I was at the latest DSP version prior to the new one being sent out.

My DSP was at

F10A

ECU Cal-Config Part Number

ML3T-14C656-AJ

F188

Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number

ML3T-14C589-AJ

The OTA only changed 188 to ML8T-14C589-AD

The F10A remained what it was at before.

The trucks I have rolled back have all been at

F10A - ML3T-14C656-AH

So now they are at

F10A - ML3T-14C656-AH

188- ML8T-14C589-AD

I believe if the DSP was sent out with the AJ F10A it wouldnt have the issues its having.

Anyways.. what i have discovered.

Also the dealers can roll it back because of the servers not being updated. Not saying they would because they probably wont but they could since the newer version isnt even in FDRS as an option.

First, you need to get the paid version of the extended liscence after that forscan will send you an invite code to register for the forum. When you have register you will be able to download the version 2.4.11 .This version can do firmware update.(It is in Beta so use it at your own risk).

Make sure to have a good usb to OBDII cable (OBD ex or vlinker FS) and put a charger on your battery.

You will need the files from the early version of the DSP module to reload them. They are not VIN specific (I load the 2023 version in my 2021 and it work perfectly like before).

When you open the DSP firmware update tab in forscan you can make a backup of your current firmware by clicking download when you are in factory mode after that you can load the files in custom mode and hit program.

I can send them to you if you pm me
