Audio Volume not working - stays at zero

Hello everyone. I just got myself a 2022 lariat powerboost this past Saturday. I love how smooth it drives.

I didn’t have any issues with the radio when test driving but couple hours after my purchase, the volume to the radio didn’t work. I would be able to turn the knob but no sound.Hello everyone. I recently bought a 2022 Lariat PowerBoost and love its smooth ride.

A couple of hours after purchase, the radio volume stopped working. I tried a soft reset, but that didn’t help. I pulled the amp fuse in the passenger footwell, and it worked.

The next day, it worked again. Then, it happened again. I tried the same steps, and it worked.

That night, it happened again. I also did a factory hard reset, and the volume changed, but no sound came out.

I discovered that the previous owner installed helix amps and a sound knob in my roof. I didn’t know about any aftermarket items before my purchase.

I’m hoping someone can help me with the car stereo. I’m not familiar with car stereo systems.

The truck is a beauty, but I’m frustrated with the electronics.

I did a soft reset with power button + forward seek button. It didn’t do much, I ended pulling amp fuse in passenger foot well and got it to work.

Next day was working fine and then it happened again tried same steps as before and it worked.

then that same night it happened again. This time I also did a factory hard reset but now volume shows it changing but no sound.

I have discovered the previous owner installed some helix amps and there a sound knob installed in my roof next to my sunglasses. I didn’t know any aftermarket items were installed before my purchase.

im hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction on what to do as I have no idea about car stereo

I don't think anyone is going to be able to help here. This will require a shop that specializes in these things to look at it to see what is causing the issue.

Or, I will trade you my stock amp for your set up.

Yeah you have a bunch of electronics. Hopefully, the installers weren't hacks that chop up factory harnesses. Was there anything in the truck to indicate where the audio work was done?

Imagine buying a used truck and hitting the audio lottery like that. lol

Nothing that I noticed. But now looking k, only this knob but even its install looks clean

Could be that @mObridge a2b. Thankfully they're on the forum. I've been told they have great support.

If you aren't getting volume feedback on the radio I would say it is likely an issue with our module. That means we aren't responding on CAN.
The first thing I would try is an update (download mObridge DSP of our website and plug in the unit it should auto update), if that doesn't solve it it could be either a harness issue or a hardware issue.

If you're getting volume control but no sound then that opens a whole other can of worms...

yes, I know these things are expensive. Could be a great come up for someone. I am just looking to sell and recoup as much money I can for the system I put in.
