Just installed the kit. Taking off the radiator support bracket bolt just beneath the speaker is key - along with loosening (halfway)the opposite radiator support bracket bolt - gives you just enough room to maneuver your hand to press the tab to detach the plug.

That said - Will - this mod is AWESOME! I’m just surprised that I didn’t notice that grinding noise while I was test driving my truck. That new car smell must be distracting enough to not notice it LOL.

The website has been updated with new shipping options. Basically there is an option for 1-4 day shipping without insurance & a 1-3 day shipping option with insurance. I leave this up to the customer to decide what's best for them since the insured shipping does cost more, but you do get it faster. That said, 99.999% of packages have reached the customer and I have only had 2 packages not show up but say delivered. The only remedy was for me to eat the cost because I refuse to leave customers out to dry, so I had to implement some new shipping strategies!

I am super appreciative of all the positive feedback both from here and Facebook, it means a lot and makes me proud of the products I build!

Still working on the Gen 3 device and still on target for its spring launch. Still working on the details but I will say that a new feature will be an on/off switch for those that have been requesting it. Both the Gen 2 bypass and Gen 3 bypass will be available to customers so they can decide what route to take!

I wait for the device that has an on/off switch. I want to see it before deciding which way I want to go.

Hi everyone, the spring target for the Gen 3 switchable bypass is being pushed back. The connectors Ford used for the PACM are difficult to work with, and I am still working on trying to make it as affordable & easy to build as possible without having lots of labor involved. For now though, Gen 2 is still proving to be the best solution as of now for price and ease of install.

We got a nice break from the winter weather and I finally got around to installing the Gen 2 kit. Easy-peasy and works great! The hardest part was releasing the clip that holds the wire into the speaker. The clip you need to release is part of the white plastic, and of course, is on the top side of the white plastic. Feel around and you'll get it.

I used this switch from amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093DX745...t_i_TZ9J6KQE2WP4CDB5QTX7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

For the box, I had an old broken ac adapter that I took the insides out and made some holes.

16 Guage wire. 4 strands through the firewall. 2 to the speaker and 2 to the harness.
Male connection "molex 34675-0002"
Blade terminal " molex 34080-0001"
Female connection "molex 34062-0032"
Female connection terminal "molex 34083-2001" ( I think this is the right one, being shipped)( just have bare wire end in the connection right now and working temporarily)

The hardest part was getting wire through the firewall. The rubber seal around the main wire harness is very very tight!!

Wires from the harness at the speaker are on the middle blades. Pedestrian delete loop off of one on position and the other on position goes back to the speaker. I can flip from one to another and no dash warnings.
all zip tied up under the dash.

Just saw a Gen3 coming and right before I was about to order the Gen2 model. Dang it! I really want the toggle switch but am dying to do the mod now too. ?

Might just have to buy Gen2 and upgrade when the new one comes out.

I agree that it would be ideal to have a temporary off switch solution rather than a permanent bypass hack. I mean the manufacturer built that in for a reason.

People get run over when drivers operate large noisy vehicles - so anything whisper quiet is asking for trouble. Hopefully those folks installing the bypass workaround are confident they'll always be hyper alert, at all time, with no distractions when driving in EV mode, backing out of a parking spot, etc.

Just playing devil's advocate here, completely... but there's something to be said about the heightened risk for the visually impaired who rely solely on their sense of hearing for their safety.

This would be a nice menu option for the PB when camping if one doesn't install the PSD.
I deleted it in ForScan, but I ABSOLUTELY agree that is should have a momentary disable similar to Auto Stop Start. When I park up at the track and back into a spot I feel like the world's biggest goober. It's just so damn dorky.

First of all I would like to thank @WillB17 . I too was annoyed with the pedestrian backup beeper, especially in campgrounds. I decided to go one step further because I wanted to still have the backup beeper easily available. Using the part numbers WillB17 provided and doing some additional research I found the matching female connector. I disconnected the speaker and ran 2 wires from it and 2 wires from the harness then snaked them through the firewall ( very tight fit) up under the dash. I hooked them up to a double pole double throw 2 position switch with 6 pins. The other 2 pins have the pedestrian delete loop on it that WillB17 makes. With switch in one position all is quiet and the other position the beeper still works.
I'm looking at doing this as well. I generally like the spaceship sound, but there are time's I'd like it gone, mostly the aforementioned campground trips.
