Ah, that type of connectivity. You can try resetting the APIM by (with the truck running) holding down the radio power button and forward seek button for 10 seconds or until the screen reboots. Do it twice back - to - back.

The TCU is a bit more more difficult to reset. It is located behind your rear seat on the passenger side. It would be to be unplugged for 24 hours and reconnected to perform a reset on it.
Yup, I have done all of that, numerous times.

I guess a trip to the dealer is on order. Maybe you have a bad module. It happens.

PTS pulls up your truck just fine. If you are referring to your dealer visit last month, they did not attempt and module updates. You don't seem to have gotten any OTA's in a while, but your Sync version at 22177 is past the hump where there trucks get stuck not getting updates.
Interesting! Not what I heard at first. Rugedraw, what do you recommend best practices are for me going fwd to get past this hump I'm at on 22177?

Thanks for your time, again!

There is nothing you or anyone can do to trigger an update being sent to you. All you can do is wait it invest in the tool needed to do it yourself.

What’s the process for updating the truck yourself? Can you point me in the direction of a guide for updating on your own? I do know from your previous post that it requires a specific tool for doing the updates.

Does my VIN lookup show anything different than before?

But doesn't isn't that adapter around $500 and the subscription for FDRS $1000?
The adaptor is around 500 but the FDRS is 50.00 for 2 day license.

No OTA history since your last OTA in October of last year.

Is this TSB associated with this issue. I usually have to hold my dealerships hand and direct them to TSBs or provide a detailed walk through on my issues.

I was told my Truck hasn't had an update in the 2 years I've owned in.

I wonder if I can get the dealer to do this for me, but from what I understand it can be difficult as they don't get paid time on it from Ford.

Thanks again!

Yes, that's right. If you can get them to do that, it will take your truck out of it's broken OTA state so you can start getting updates again.

Unless you are in a situation like the guy above, they won't update you for free. Even then, they will do just enough to get you out of where it is stuck and leave the rest of the updates undone.

I had my APIM replaced and had updates for months. However, my last update was 3.5.2 on September 29, 2022. @rugedraw can you look at my VIN please (1FTFW1ED0MFB70405)? I am curious to know if I even had an update sent since then.

I’ve spent all of my Saturday and now probably a couple more hours this morning updating all the modules in my truck.
As far as the OTA updates I had been stuck in 22177 since Nov. and in the list there are no APIM updates available. However, after updating (I think it was the IPMA module, which takes 3 hours) I had new updates show up. A Gateway module was now in the list and after I updated that, then the APIM update appeared. That brought me up to 22192, which then added another Gateway update, then another APIM update, and so on it went. Now I’m at 22293, which that last one was 5GB and took forever to complete (included the Alexa update).
Basically there is a sequence of updates that need to happen before the OTA updates will even appear in FDRS.
I’ll be glad when I’m done, just sure I can convince myself it was worth $800 and my weekend…

mongoose $550
Windows laptop $200
64GB flash drive $12
2-day FDRS $50
