Once I setup the schedule I've gotten an update every week like clockwork. Seems like the folks that were stuck in the 1.7s are also starting to get updates rolled out to them
How long did it take before they started rolling in? I set my schedule for yesterday and nothing happened.

Same happened to me. I got my truck back on a Monday, set the schedule for Tuesday at 11pm. I didn’t get my first update until the following Tuesday (8 days after getting my new APIM).

No OTA history in the past 60 days and no OTA in queue at this time. With Sync version 22177, you are a bit behind, but I can't tell how far behind you are since your last OTA was over 60 days ago.

What's your two cents about doing the negative terminal disconnect on the battery to reset the modem?

I've pretty much tried everything else.

Did all the "Resets" from the truck screen.
Uninstalled the Ford Pass app, and reinstalled it on my iPhone.
Removed my truck from Ford Pass, and then added it back in.
Unplugged the TCU overnight
Took the truck to a dealership, who said they tried a "re-program"
Then the dealership thinks my issue is due to a weak signal due to bad coaxial cables so they want to order and install new ones (I'm taking a hard pass on this)

When I took delivery of the truck, Ford Pass activated, and worked for about 3 weeks. Then it stopped around March 18, 2023.

Now even though I added my truck back to Ford Pass, it won't "Activate".

Prior to the dealership visit, my update details were 4.2.1
Now Update Details just says "Your software is up-to-date"

Would the battery disconnect be worth a try?

My worries are 1 minor, and 1 major....

1 minor, I do this and it resets all my current personal settings. Not a big deal, but sort of a pain if it doesn't work.

1 major, I do this, and it works....Ford Pass works, I get a new update, but the new update breaks something else that is currently working fine....like my CarPlay is currently working great. Everything seems to be working great, I just don't have any Ford Pass functionality.

Your thoughts?

If your concern is Fordpass not working, there is nothing you can do at the moment. If it is broken for you as it is for me and many others, you're stuck waiting for Ford to come up with a fix. There is nothing you can reset or unplug that will bring it back. It's just Ford being Ford.

Thanks. My current status is I have the App, and it does nothing in terms of interfacing with the truck. It won't even let me Activate my truck again. Had I not known about Ford Pass, I would otherwise be having a pretty good ownership experience.

It is odd though, since my brother has a Mach-e Mustang, and his Ford Pass is perfectly fine. He even leaves his key fob at home and just uses his iPhone with Ford Pass as his "key" to operate the vehicle on a daily basis.

One person at Ford Pass told me to tell the dealership TSB232104.

I did that, and the dealership said that they "checked, and there was nothing there", whatever that means.

I am not sure if other Ford vehicles are affected, but the trucks are. Performing a master rest breaks Fordpass.

You had 3.5.3 sent to you and failed in early February, but a second OTA trigger was sent to your truck yesterday. Update 3.5.3 is in your queue right now trying to download and install. Hopefully it goes through this time as that update has been a PITA for many to install.

Thanks for checking.
I really appreciate the help

Funny thing happened, actually ended up getting the upgrade overnight. Went through without any problems this time.

Would you mind checking my VIN 1FTFW1E81MFB62283 again - they replaced my APIM chip at the end of March and I don't think I got any updates, but recently used Apply maps and the turn by turn directions were there.

I also noticed that my auto start/stop hasn't worked in some time (which makes me wonder if my battery just isn't staying charged enough). My truck was one of those that sat for 4 months waiting on a chip.

I see they installed the new APIM on 3/23 and ran a PMI on it, so they seem to have done it right. You were sent OTA 2.1.0 (holy sh*t, your truck is far behind) on 4/17, but it failed to download all the files it needed and it timed out and failed two weeks later. Nothing you can do but wait for it to be resent. It will be a looooooong time before you are caught up if you wait for OTA's. I would still recommend getting a Mongoose (or get on the list to borrow one of mine) and performing the updates yourself.

Yea before they replaced it, I had NEVER received one. So I know I'm behind, ha. but it is at least trying, so question, do you know if it is trying wifi or the truck's cellular or both? We had crappy DSL (yea that is still a thing some places, 6 mb down .5 (yea POINT 5 up), but I'm now on starlink. We don't have great cellular coverage at my house either, which is why I wonder if it will try wifi.

Also if the battery reaches below a certain point, will it stop trying to download the update. I've been wondering if I should stick it on a battery charger then try to run the update.

Currently don't have a windows computer, so it is something I'm considering, just about to have a 16 year old driving, so was trying not to spend extra money, knowing insurance is gonna kill me.

It is believed that OTA's only download via cellular data, but I cannot confirm that is the case. Having a battery on a low SOC does not affect an OTA downloading, but it can affect an OTA installing once it is downloaded. When I update fails due to low SOC, the error code recorded in PTS will clearly say that is the reason. Also, your truck has not recorded a low battery voltage code in the past 60 days which is as far back as I can see. I assume you removed the active air dam, because it throws a code for that every time you drive it.
