Yes, that's right. If you can get them to do that, it will take your truck out of it's broken OTA state so you can start getting updates again.



Unless you are in a situation like the guy above, they won't update you for free. Even then, they will do just enough to get you out of where it is stuck and leave the rest of the updates undone.

Wth? Luckily I paid way less than the $70k+ what my exact truck would go for today. You are saying even though my truck is broke, not updating therefore not working as designed FORD may not fix it?

If that's the case I'll be contacting my lawyer who already did amazing work against Ford regarding this truck.

My question is how good and stable is the WI-FI signal to the truck along with is the WI-FI feature enabled on the truck to receive and install updates in a timely manner.

Have a strong signal in the garage and the preferred up date down load time is set at 9pm Tuesday-Thursday.

Had a Jan 2021 built (21) 302a XLT PB it never failed a up date and the present March 2022 built (22) 302a XLT 2.7 payload package has never had a failed up date.

Another factor that came up on the screen was it takes over xxx minutes for update please exit and secure your truck. Your truck will be unusable during the update.

This is the reasoning for the Tuesday-Thursday 9pm update times. Truck is secured and can connect to it's stable WI FI signal.

I know it's an ongoing debate, but WiFi has never been established as successful being the medium for an OTA update.

Your truck is stuck on SYnc 20301 and the last recorded OTA on your truck was 26 months ago. Without dealer intervention, your truck will most likely never get an OTA. You need to tell your dealer you have not gotten an OTA in over two years and they need to manually update/repair your APIM or diagnose it as faulty and replace it.

I had my APIM replaced and had updates for months. However, my last update was 3.5.2 on September 29, 2022. @rugedraw can you look at my VIN please (1FTFW1ED0MFB70405)? I am curious to know if I even had an update sent since then.

3.5.2 was sent to you on 1/10, but the OTA trigger expired 2 weeks later before it was able to download this files. This is a very common issue with this OTA. Nothing to do but wait for it to be resent to you.

instead of taking it to dealer...would the mongoose + update by yourself do the trick to getting it "fixed".

Last time I took it it was $500 to fix issues...might as well buy a mongoose and do itmyself and turn around and sell it and lose maybe $100

You can do that, or look up my threads and put yourself in line to borrow one of mine if you prefer to take that route, but I have quiet a few people in queue as it is.

I think some of us 2022 Super Duty guys are in the same boat with not receiving OTA's either. I am stuck on revision 134. Some people have gotten 352 and 354 and are getting revision 610 now.

Can you look to see if we have the same problem? I know we have a slightly modified version of Sync 4 since Ford didn't update everything.

I am not very familiar with the OTA process on the Super Duties, but I think they are very similar to the F150. All I can tell you is that your truck has not gotten an OTA since it was built.

i shows up on my Sync screen with an exclamation point. when i click it, it asked if i wanted to install now and a couple other options maybe schedule...when i click install now, nothing happens.

No need to worry. It installed successfully on 3/1. It was 22-PU1010-MIL-LT that updates your ABS modules.

so yes, i got the 22-PU1010-MIL-LT update on 3/1. i got the 22-PU1010-MIL-QL update on 2/11

I saw those both on ford pass. still in my inbox but when i got in the truck, it had the download symbol and a check mark for both of those updates as well. i clicked on them and it showed what they were.

but on 3/2, i noticed the download symbol with an exclamation point. if its still there ill post pics when i get back to the truck.

it says there was an interruption and action is needed and it ask if i want to "update now" or...there was another option or two. anyway, when i click update now, nothing happens.

its been there since 3/2. i figured maybe it was time to ask someone with better access than me haha

It looks like Fordpass and your truck are not in sync. You have no failed updates or any pending updates in your queue now.
