I believe this is a known bug. I had a '21 302A that behaved perfectly. My '23 302A was miserable re: HVAC regulation. A friend of mine that also jumped into a '23 experienced the same thing.
I think this is really cool, and I'm all about upgrading trucks to handle more than what the factory says. Be prepared though, most users on this forum are going to berate you.
Cool build, though, and I can't wait to see it done.
I started a rental 2021 3.5L at Hertz 2 months ago that would so, so beg to differ. LOL. It was so loud for a few seconds I thought it was rod knock from inside of the truck.
Drove and performed fine though.
My PowerBoost was neck and neck with my buddies 5.0, all things equal (trim, rear end, etc) from a roll.
If the 102 limiter wasn't there, he'd walk away from me.
FYI for anyone talking "speed," I raced (private course of course, ha) over the course of 45 minutes - a good friend with a very similarly specced truck.
Both 2023 F150 XLT 302A, both had 3.73 rear end ratios, both 4x4, both SCREW 5.5ft - as evenly matched as you could wish. He had 5.0, I had...
That's the good news, its pretty customizable to show what you want and how you want it. You can configure it so the tachometer is round like a typical one, and you definitely don't have to show all of that other nonsense.
Hi all,
Posting this to gather info on a potential lease transfer. My F-150 is a third vehicle for us and we are looking to dump it to get out of car payments. Here is the info:
2023 F-150 XLT PowerBoost Hybrid 4x4 5.5ft Bed
VIN: 1FTFW1ED4PFC50357
Odometer: 2,600 miles

Yep. Sorry my friend but this is operator error. Your truck is holding a gear to anticipate your next move whether its slowing down or continuing up another hill. Maintain steady throttle and itll upshift. Operating the truck within the rated parameters is not harmful. Being at 4-6k RPM is not...
I think some aftermarket tunes let you get around it. You can rip donuts all day, too, but it does get angry when trying to do a brake stand. You can pull it off but it takes much coaxing. Try allowing the truck to roll 2-3mph while attempting. Seems to help, not that id know.
It truly cracks me up. I have to assume most folks in this thread are old timers, that lived thru the quality crisis that was the mid 70s to mid/late 80s, but act appalled at today’s vehicles. Today’s vehicles are built with precision and quality so much higher than stuff even 20 years ago was...
While I don't have one in my f150, the expedition one is the same. Our '18 has been fine, keep the drains clear. My wife doesnt mess with it though, it says closed w/shade open basically 360/365 days a year.
