It's software. It's 100% an issue with post 2021's. As myself and others have mentioned, the early Gen 14's were fine and this is affecting later models. So odd. Maybe we'll get an OTA for it?
I have noticed this too. My 2021 worked fine, my 2023 is the same as yours, fucked. WTF did Ford fuck up? A good friends 2023 is the same way, too.
I’ve always had it set to 70. In our 2 previous explorers, in my 21 f150, in our expedition… but this f150? Holy smokes no way.
I love the sound of the 5.0L, but man, after riding in my buddies '23 with 3.73's, and I having had a 2.7L and now a PowerBoost.. I dunno. I LOVE V8 but man does the Eco just fit in a truck application, and the low end punch is awesome.
Just adding... the results of
2x 20-limiter roll
2x...
Holy crap, mine does the same thing! My truck is only a few months old and has 1200 miles. It does it completely randomly, and not very often. It will stop by itself within a mile or two. Does not correlate to elec/gas/throttle position etc.
Wild!
Just to update, I ordered the Phillips ones above and they work great. They almost identically match my 2021’s and took about 3 minutes to install. Would do again.
It's upselling. The 2.7 also absolutely does not have that narrow of a powerband. I've had 3x 2.7 trucks, I have a 3.5 Expedition and a 3.5 Powerboost F150. The 2.7 is a fucking STOUT motor and does not drive discernibly different around town.
It's stupid. The 2.7L for all intents and purposes...
Thanks just ordered these, they look quality. I went from a 2021 to 2023 and the lack of LED plate light bulbs is baffling. I'd like them to at least match the puddle lamps, shit. If one is going to be incandescent make them ALL incandescent or vice a versa.
