What the he(( Ford? For Powerboost, v5 is crippled compared to v4. No warranty information and no owners manual? That should have been a mindlessly easy priority.

Farley keeps saying that hybrids will be the focus over EVs but this proves that a lie.

Not happy with having lost functionality in an app. Which software architect genius thought that would be a customer positive?

Sorry if I missed this, but do we get notifications for OTA updates in V5?

Here's hoping that Ford resolves these issues with updates, but the fact that they rolled this out in this way may show that we are no longer the future and their targeted demographic. They apparently believe that EV's are the future, based on the current version of this app, even if they can't give them away.

I wonder if they're going to be discussing this thread in a meeting today... :ROFLMAO:

Seems there was a minor update, as I now found the mileage, tire pressure, and oil life buried in (Service->Vehicle Health: tap to expand).

“Service records” (IE a list of the prices you paid with non-descript list of services.) are there, but useless to tell what you actually had serviced.

Sadly still No fuel gauge.
No zone lighting.
No Trailer light check (my most commonly used feature of the previous app)

The neutering of the app, combined with the neutered audio update (6CHAUD) is very frustrating.

My opinion might be controversial, but why not just delete the useless app and use the vehicle as intended, AS A TRUCK! Why do people find it necessary to look at their phone for everything? Tire pressure low? Use a tire pressure gauge and check. How is this inconvenient? You still need to get down and connect an air hose to fill it up, the app isn't going to do it. Need to know your fuel level or mileage? Look before you turn off the vehicle. How hard is that? The only option I see in the app as convenient, is the auto start simply because the FOB on some trim levels do not have the option to do so. Other than that, the app is just a gimmick to allow Ford and 3rd parties access to your vehicle and cell phone data.

I disagree.

Lets go back to crank windows and who needs cruise control anyway :)

I didn't use some of the things others note but I did use tire pressure and oil life. Also used trailer light check and PPOB monitor.

I almost never start my vehicle remotely but understand why some do.

Never used zone lighting either but never say never.

Having the service records right there is handy.

I understand that some of these are, or have been reinstalled in the app and thats great but until TL check and PPOB monitoring are, I'll be keeping V4 for as long as possible.

Ahhhh... remember the good old days (Dec 2021), when Ford had an "open" API?

And Anthony (@tonesto7) built the AWESOME FordPass widget?

I knew that Ford didn't give a rat's behind about the FordPass app or its users when they started changing the API until it was no longer possible for Anthony to access the API.

I honestly thought that Anthony's widget was temporary... to take care of the shortcomings of the FordPass app and that FordPass would catch up to it. But, instead of making FordPass better, they killed access to the API and have now removed just about every decent feature of the app!

Hey Ford... that's an excellent customer retention plan!

Ahhhh... I miss those days!

Thank goodness Anthony didn't abandon us... and has given us the Power-Up version history page (ford-pwr-up-info) for OTAs. Thanks Anthony! (OTA's.... Now there is yet another Ford cluster f*k.)

Besides the usual complaints about missing features the app is not updating. It is telling me my truck is on and it is most certainly not. I have a ‘23 F150 Powerboost.

I hope you have better luck then me. I looked at V5 the other day and said no way and V4 was working just fine. I never went to the apple store and loaded V5. Then Saturday evening opened the app and could do anything with it it was blacked out and said update now, They left no way around it so now it's V5 and it's a complete waste of phone space. I hope they fix it soon or it will be going into the trash bin.

Ford offers API access now. So maybe it's time to update my widget to support it until Ford gets their act together.

In their defense, they are investigating adding widget support to the new v5 app.

Apparently there is a difference between Apple and Android.

Apples seem to have it forced on them, whereas so far, Androids haven't.

I tried V5 and didn't like it...switched back to 4.37.0. A couple of days later...V 5. I have auto updates turned off on my phone and tablet. Both changed to V 5...
