Greetings

Have a question concerning the Traffic Info on Sync 4. Not new to Ford, or Sync, or F-150's! :) But I just bought a '22 XLT with connected Sync 4 (4a, I think it's called) and it's a big upgrade!!

On my 22 Lincoln's Sync 3, traffic info is clear.

But in Sync 4a, I'm not seeing anything.

Have tried turning the Nav Menu's "Display Traffic" ON and OFF multiple times and this display never changes. Also tried several reboots ... no change.

Yes, I know I could use Car Play with Google/Waze but I prefer the onboard maps here in town.

Question ... is there an actual traffic display in Sync 4? What does it look lilke?

Want to see if I have an "issue" or if what I am seeing is somehow "normal".

I believe you need to have the truck connected to Ford Pass if I remember right for the subscription service to work.

Isn't live traffic a paid option on sync 4?
I’m within the 3-year trial and the Connected Apps page says I have connected nav as well as I’ve enabled the Advanced Features as well.

Regular routing and the nav function works perfectly.

Yup ... and everything else seems to be working fine. I get the Weather Radar, etc., just fine. Remote start, via Ford Pass, etc., work fine.

That's odd. When I paid and reactivated mine, it took several key cycles for the connected features to work again but yours seems to be mostly working. You could always do a factory reset under settings but that requires setting all your preferences back and connecting Ford Pass again afterwards.

I gave up on the sync maps/traffic, just use car play and my phone for navigation.

My experience is that the map only shows a yellow line. This occurs when traffic seems to be pretty heavy. I haven't seen red line. When traffic flow is normal, I don't see a green line like I would expect to...just looks like normal map with no traffic indication.

This assumes you have an active subscription/trial.

I did a full reset and re-enabled everything. I’ll monitor it over the next few weeks to see what happens.

Considering how much better things seem to be running overall, I suspect the dealer just did the low level reset (removing previous owner stuff) vs the full factory reset.

I’m cautiously optimistic!! ?

I like Waze for several reasons. The main reason is when I change to a different car or truck, (we also have a Toyota) I always have my previous destination info with me because it's on my phone. With one platform on all vehicles, it is easier for me to use than having to get used to how another platform works. Plain and simple (like me), continuity and familiarity.
